Darn. I thought there was going to be a RX-7 concept in here.

I doubt there will be another RX-7. Why in the first place would mazda resurrect an RX name when they already have the newest successor to the RX series out? All you hear about a new RX-7 is a rumour. I sure hope it will stay a rumour. If they do decide to bring it back it'll be a disgrace if it looked nothing like previous gen 7's. Although, whats more likely is a 2nd gen RX-8 or a successor to it.

I agree with a6m5 -- talk about a misleading thread title. It should be renamed "hey let's chat about the rumors surrounding the supposed possibility of Mazda maybe considering to think about building another RX-7 sometime in the future. Maybe."

Where in my post did I say I was expecting pics? I was simply expecting news. This is the Auto News forum, after all.

If you heard it in some video, it's a rumor.

The fact that you heard about it in that BM video should have been included in the first post, along with the link to it.

Trust me, in a forum with news about everything from the Veyron to the next Camry to the latest SUV/crossover thing, I'm sure an RX-7 concept or spy photo would not go unposted.

I heard from a magazine along time ago "If the RX-8 sells well Mazda might consider making a RX-7."

In one of the recent Best Motoring(or was it Hot Version), where they test drove the RX8 around the tracks stock and modded(a newer video than Rotary Reborn DVD) the 'Drift King' Tsuchiya Keiichi has made mentions that Mazda is already hard at work on a new RX-7 and hopes it will not disappoint. Basically Tsuchiya said the RX8 is a sports car without power and basically Mazda used RX8 as an experiment then those knowledge will be applied to build the foundation which is the new RX-7. They had some folks at Mazda talking about the new RX-7 too if my memory serves me right, which brings to the conclusion a next generation RX-7 is confirmed to be in the works. Probably more news will surface once the new GTR is close to launch, along with Mitsubishi's Concept X(Evo), a new Supra and who knows probably a next generation WRX Sti.
