Been largely ignoring this title for quite a while due to the weird handling at launch. I was quite a fan of GT6's model... while not exactly realistic, it did allow for quite a bit of control with your right and left feet!

So, strictly for those who remember GT6's handling well, how do you feel about the new tire/handling model? Has the Zamboni driving been reduced?

Best thing for you to do is try it for yourself but imo it's slightly better than GT6's tyre model, not so much of a difference on Race tyres but more so on the Sports and Comfort variants. The N cars in particular have benefited from the last update and at the very least it's a step in the right direction. That Zamboni feel has definitely gone for me.

This thread will give you an insight to peoples thoughts (but not so much against GT6's tyre model) https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...model-thread-1-23.380431/page-8#post-12423912

Any other GT6 fans with opinions? I seem to remember there were a few that played both titles right up until the GT6 servers closed down (I didn't get GTS until GT6 servers shut down and I had no choice!). You might be the best judge of things, as it's so easy to become accustomed to a new model quite quickly...

I can get used to the slippery tire model in GTS, but I cannot stand the non-linear throttle that makes modulating input frustrating and vague in the upper levels to say the least. GT6 was far more manageable. People used to complain about the throttle response in GTS but they must have been driven away permanently. Nearly a year later I’ve given up all hope for this game.

Interesting you say this. My brother who doesn't own the game, but is a vet of the others, mentions this every time he drives. It is hard to find a balance between accelerating well out of a turn and not spinning the wheels up.

Controller player here: I prefer the GT6 handling and suspension model. Drifting was fun, the chassis movement with body roll was convincing. I'm not saying it's realist but at least it was fun. GTSport feels too stiff for non race cars, the drifting awful for some reasons.

I would rather have a linear throttle but it's not the end of the world for me. As far as I'm concerned it's just a quirk of the game, like Pcars1 had snap oversteer .. kind of annoying, but nothing I couldn't get used to

No I think the drifting is fine.

Random two (not very fast) laps for reference. I think the car looks and feels a lot more natural. Its not sliding all the time as before. More predictable also..

And call me crazy, but on gravel i now actually feel like im driving the car now instead of ice skating. Grippy gravel in Gran Turismo... Whaaaat.

What is this witchcraft..

Maybe ive been proberly placeboed.
