I'm just starting this remote race feature today for the first time, and I'm having some issues.

I'm trying to host a remote race, but when I go to select additional drivers for an event all but one of the 20 people on my list are grayed out.

I know these folks have their drivers set to share, because I added them from the remote race topic.

I click on the grayed out people on the list and I get a pop-up that says "Warning: Driver not found"

The one user that isn't grayed out has 5 drivers. They all have red slashes through them. On the rare occasion that a red slash disappears, I click on the driver and I get the pop-up message that says "Driver is unable to participate."

I tried to back out and load a race again and now I can't even load my own driver. My driver either has a red slash through him, or when the slash disappears I get the "Driver is unable to participate" message.

Thanks in advance for the help.

So I finally get a bunch of drivers selected and click the start race button and I just get a perpetual loading screen for 10+ minutes. The main page says I'm racing, but then the system eventually just boots me off.

I've been trying this for about 2 hours now and its really frustrating.

Yes my PS3 is on and yes it's connected. As soon as I get booted out I go back to the main screen and I get a green light again that says it's ready to go.

It could be a server issue (with all the crowds on there), but it could also be a client issue (e.g. a firewall or virusscanner interfering or something). When you do this, and it starts the race, is anything happening at all on your PS3 at that moment (race should be starting)? It could be a connectivity issue with your PS3 as well, since that's where the race is hosted, the web page is just a front end, you have NAT2 etc. when going online (regular racing)? Just asking some questions here to see if there's a lead anywhere.

Are they being used?

Most of the time my driver is being used, which is frustrating because I can't host races.

I got one race running and it went fine until the last lap (at which point my wife turned the PS3 off not realizing it needed to remain on).

Then after 45 minutes of trying I finally got control of my racer again, added 11 others to a race and hit the start button and then nothing happened.

Now I've been trying to gain control of my driver again for the past 30 minutes or so.

Frustrating.

QUESTION: Do I need to keep my driver shared in order to host a remote race?

Thanks for the help everyone!

It can be a little frustrating when starting out. Just try and set up a race with a few drivers to start with.
I am also currently waiting to get control of a Bob so I can host. :dopey:

Good luck and don't give up the fun factor is rewarding once you hook up.:)

I definitely enjoying it. It's just frustrating when I only have on Bob and everyone else is passing him around. That's good and bad. :)
