New to the racing game world, few questions...

I just recently started getting into racing games and I have some questions,

first off I am going to buy GT5 Prologue for ps3 and I want to have a wheel.

I've done a tad of research and two wheels stood out:

the logitech G25
or
the official gt5 wheel which comes out in may.

My question is which one is better for me, keep in mind that im a beginner.

Also i would prfer to have wheel in lap then attached to sumthing, can i do that or will it be messed up.


Lastly i dont really know how to drive a manual car, can sumone give me a link or breifly explain how i wud use the gears on gran turismo.

if you can't drive manual you might as well get the official gt wheel. it only has sequential shifting. you use paddles behind the wheel to shift instead of the clutch and h pattern shifter of the g25. with both wheels you will be better off mounting them to something. i used the xbox wheel with forza in my lap and it sucked. not to mention the wheel sucks anyway. i have the g25 and i have to say it is a great asset to racing games, but i imagine the new wheel coming out will be about the same except for the h pattern shifter . as for mounting it look at the cheap cockpit thread in here, there are all kinds of easy ways people have found to mount them. I'm sure either wheel will be a good choice.
