Currently I have a Logitech DFGT with an adapter. It seems to be doing quite well on the game right now as I often find myself inside or close to the top 10 in Europe for the FIA Nations Cup (apart from the Nurburgring GP and Kyoto Driving Park tracks for some reason. I'm just not good at those at all :grumpy:). I have been thinking about moving to the Logitech G29 or Thrustmaster T300RS in the future at some point. If I do, which one should I get?

From what I understand so far:

G29:
- A bit less expensive than the T300.
- Will probably last a bit longer.
- Quicker FFB than my current wheel (I don't run much FFB though so probably won't make much difference to me).
- Same FFB system as the G27 and gear driven.

T300RS:
- Belt driven FFB, much smoother than the G29.
- Probably an outright better performing wheel.
- The main thing though is the reliability. I think a poll was done on GTPlanet a while back which ended up with about half of T300 owners having at least one issue with it.

If I do get one of these, I intend to use it for a while. Just a side note, but when the PS5 comes out the T300 would probably be more likely to have upgradable firmware to support it unless GIMX, DriveHub or some other adapter will be able to make wheels work on the next console too.

If anyone has used these wheels, what has been your experience with them? Thanks!! :gtpflag:

I’ve used a g25 and g29. Both good wheels. Feel good, built good and my 10yr old g25 is still performing like new.

I would recommend the g29 if money was limited. However since you asked about the t300 and not the T150 it seems like your willing to put a bit more on the table for a better performing wheel.

From what I’ve read and experienced (only used t300 briefly) it’s in a different league to the g29. So if your willing I’d say the 300

I understand the consensus is that the logitech pedals are better than the TM ones.

I think it depends very much what the prices are like - for example the G29 was £129 here recently, about half the cost of the T300RS. Is the T300 worth double the price ? On the other hand, a month ago the G29 was about £215 - which makes the decision more difficult.

In either case, I'd wait to see what prices turn up in the sales post Christmas.

Is the T300 worth double the price ?

No, it's not.

I have both a G29 and a T300 (and have had G25 & G27 previously). Not a lot to choose between them in absolute performance - pedals on G29 are MUCH better than the stock T300 pedals, as is the leather on the wheel rim. T300 has a nicer sized/shaped rim, but it's made out of some hideous rubber, and feels pretty rubbish. In all honestly, they don't feel much different FF wise, though T300 works much better with AC (AC is terrible with a G29).

In reality, you need a T300, the pedal upgrade (TPA?) AND a different rim to make a T300 more enjoyable to use than a G29... and a 599 wheel on its own costs more than a discounted G29.

G29 is a brilliant wheel for the money.

I probably shouldn't have voted, as I've not tried T300, my G29 is bullet proof though and I would recommend to anyone without fear of come back. Kids hanging off of it, stamping on pedals etc. Me with hundreds of hours in Dirt Rally VR and Driveclub VR would have probably killed most wheels.

I have been tempted with the alcantara wheel for thrustmaster as they can switch them, but I've since built up the callus on my thumbs (the G29 stitching takes a toll on your hands if they are very soft).

I posted a similar thread a while ago because I was bout to make the same choice - long story short - exactly due to the many problems that T300RS has I went for G29 and I'm really happy with the wheel - great build quality and pedal set. As for the compatibility - don't worry about - it is still unknown when the PS5 will be released, so I wouldn't care for that :)
