Hi friends,
didn´t yet find a posting about the new issue of the german PS2-Mag "Playtheplaystation". I just bought it and i think it´s worth to report about it.
This time, there is a big special report on DVD about the GT4 Presentation at the N´ring.
Besides the Kazunori-Interview (that we already knew) there ist a Multiangle-Demo of a complete Lap on the Nordschleife (Riding with a JTCC-Supra close behind a DTM-ABT-Audi-TT (The blue Playstation-TT)).
The three front drivers are always very close, but behind them you can see the three AI-driven cars with lots of little errors and some heavy impacts
And again: The Track looks amazing !!! As a regular visitor auf the "Nordschleife" (70 Car-Minutes from my Home) i am really surprised by the realistic wheather conditions of the Ring. Especially the clouds and the trees are looking so typical for the "Eifel"-Region.
When you drive up to the "Karussel" there are four big trees, helping to find the line and the right moment for the brakes just like in real life.
Then there is a real-life-lap in a 300hp Volvo with a test driver. I´ve seen better and more spectacular Movies, but the driver tells a few funny stories about the ring.
The highlight is a lap on the PS2 with a McLaren F1 (known from the prologue) driven by the german Touring Car Pro Christian Menzel (winner of the 24 H from the Nürburgring 1998 and winner of the Daytona 24 H). He ist also a well-known commentator for Eurosport.
He is a very sympathic guy und he seems to be a really great fan of GT4.
He commentates the lap and he delivers a really good lap until he gets to "Breitscheid". He seems really amazed by the look of the track and the realistic
conditions and the bumbs on the track.
He has only one point of critic:
At the "Bergwerk"-Part of the Nordschleife (where the horrible Niki Lauda accident took place) there are higher trees and the dark parts of the track (because of the shadows of the trees) are starting too late. But he reportet this to "Kaz" and he already knew about it and will improve this part. Kaz also reported that there are two locations where the descent is heavier and that these parts will be improved too ! (I hope, my english ist good enough to be understood, sorry)
Back to menzel´s lap:
At "Breitscheid" he is too early on the throttle and almost spins. He says that even during the spin the car acts realistic.
After this little error he wants too much and has another accident at the exit of the carussel und then another crash after the "Schwalbenschwanz" (little carussel) and so he looses all the speed for the "Döttinger Höhe".
At the end it is a 7 minutes lap and he says that it could have been a 6:45 min.
And then he tells us, that he is driving since daybreak and that he will now start his next lap !!! He already seems to be addicted !
At the end, there are some disappointing words from "Kaz" when he announces, that GT4 will be released "in this winter".
That is worrying me, because he didn´t speak about "this year" or "before Christmas"
We will see !
Besides, there were also some discussions in german GT-Forums about the BMW-Einser-Demo.
It seems to be playable in Sweden and in Great Britain but they do not sell it and they do not give it away !
That´s all for today !
Now i´m awaiting your replies !
