Isn't that the description of this forum? So why are all the threads being locked that are about this rumoured release date in November? Doesn't locking them just encourage people to start a new one? In the end there are going to be more threads about this subject because of the way the moderators are handeling them.

They have asked for people to stop posting the release dates that were posted by play.com because it causes endless speculation and a never ending stream of bad news, and bad media that frankly PD doesn't deserve. Because if they do not deliver by this "release date" people will be pissed!

And to go further than just the release dates threads (RedSuiniit is correct btw) it's because we don't need a dozen threads on each subject. The site has a search function, it's there to be used.

If you (that's collectively) want to scroll through page after page of threads all covering the same topics then there's plenty of other sites to fill that need. Personally I'd rather keep it how it is here.

Yo dude,use the "SEARCH"!!!!

I can understand why my thread was locked but being named and shamed is a bit OTT.

Due to having many hobbies I post on various forums but I have to confess and say that this forum isn't the most welcoming that I post on especially as I was only trying to be helpful. I have often noticed that unless you have a GTP in front of your name your made to feel like a bit of an outsider. I certainly hope the GT5 community will be a little bit more friendlier!!

Sure enough when the official Gran Turismo website has the release date in big numbers or letters then that will be the date I will believe - everything else is a guess.

We have a sticky at the top of the forum about the release date. We also have a huge thread already on the release date for GT5. It's here and any further comments should be added to it. We do not need a multitude of other threads about an unconfirmed release date just because someone sees a date a shop or magazine has guessed at.

Mate also this forum is very sensitive - post a few feelings of yours which the mods or fanboys feel is negative towards PD or the GT game and then, well you might as well grab your flame proof/stab proof or whatever jacket cos boy do they let rip!!!

Thats why now any time I want to write anything a bit negative I stop typing and go and run into a wall or something.

Personally I feel the date of the 27th November warrants discussion.

This date makes sense for a release especially as xmas shopping reaches its peak around this time. I can understand the lack of discussion if play.com suggested a Sep/Oct release date but certainly not for the end of November.

I also very much doubt play.com pluck dates from thin air and must have a source.

The problem with going forth discussing this date is this :
If PD don't release GT5 by 27th of November, everyone will get on their high horse saying "OMG SIK OF DELAYS MANG" when PD haven't even said that they will release it at all.
I doubt GTP wants to be responsible for creating false hope and then giving PD a bad name if GT5 doesnt get released.

So... until we get word from KY or PD on the release date, don't believe the rumor mills.

I mean sure, this COULD end up as the release date of GT5 but GTP would rather hear it from a credible source.

just how do YOU know november 27 is not the correct date hmm?

p.s. my thread has been locked down now i'm pissed.

we know it is most likely not the correct date because it is so far ahead of now that polyphony cannot give a precise date. its like, you owning a business and you want to make a new product. you wanted it to be released around november or december, but you dont know of the exact date because there are so many tiny things that can go wrong, which will delay it. for example, if you had a company that makes electronics like samsung, and you wanted to get a designer to draw out the new tv, and he is ill on the day you want him to show it to you, there will be a delay. the only possible time there can be a fixed date is when there are 2-1.5 months left until the release.

i see your point but, did someone contacted Play.com to ask them where they found the damn date?

They're just speculating... guessing basicly.... a week ago they and many other website had 25th of september as the release date. No one knows except for PD and Sony, and until they tell us the release date all other dates are mearly speculations and rumors.

Apparently play.com say this although I wait for a PD/Sony announcement.

Should this release date change we will update the website accordingly, so it is worth checking Play.com periodically. Knowing PD's history, I doubt even they know the actual release date...Until the games are actually released, any date, published by PD or otherwise is just tentative.

In my opinion thats just a bunch of BS to keep themselves out of trouble, so that if they do happen to get the release date wrong, they blame it on the game company to avoid people who have pre-ordered jumping on their heads.
