NFS Hot Pursuit 3

It does remind me of Burnout and any game involving smashing cars off the road, but it also reminds me more of the original Hot Pursuit since it came out much before burnout and aside from wrecking(unrealistic to the max) its the same. I don't see it as a new Burnout, I see it as a new Hot Pursuit. I played all BOs and all NFS games of the past. I never said my opinion was final, just that I'm left craving more info and what was shown was nothing to get exited about.

I give in now that I think about it they have taken any once of realism out of the game, so it is more like Burnout.

Actually, the ability to wreck a car your pursuing is MORE realistic. Granted the wreck in the video wasn't realistic, but it's an Arcade racer...which is what both NFS and Burnout are. But, like I said, would see a fair amount of races being won by both the cops and robbers and probably not many of them will end with a wreck. I see a lot of racers hitting spike strips.

I'm really looking forward to playing this. I love Hot Pursuit 2 and have always wanted a sequel. I really hope Criterion makes this a great game.

I was referring to real cop chases :). Arcade or not there can be realistic elements. Physics are the only thing when it comes to Arcade racers....

Epic trailer is epic. 👍 Especially liked the bit where the other two racers show up out of nowhere and help out the Koeingsegg. Hope we can do that in the full game. I know there are those that prefer a more sim-type racing, but this is a true arcade game, and it's perfect as is.

Edit: This also has the best pursuit music ever!

NFS Hot Pursuit is one of my favorite arcade racers of all-time. It's great to see EA finally bring it back after 8 long years. I can't wait to see more gameplay footage. The guy driving in the live demo clearly didn't try to get away from the cops. Which made it kinda boring. But other than that it looked great.

Also, it's made by Criterion. So you know it's be good. Only question, will it be great?

I've been holding out for a proper Hot Pursuit successor for basically ever! HP2 was amazing. This new trailer had everything I wanted and it was spectacular, was instantly recognisable as an update to the Hot Pursuit 2 opening vid.

The only thing that worries me with this game is all the Burnout connotations and it might be way too arcadey. HP2 (although an arcade game) found the right balance I just hope this one isnt a Split Second / Blur clone with unrealistic power ups etc.

If it has point to point races I will be extremely happy. I hope they add some original NFS-SE feel to the game because that still in my mind is the best in the series.

I will definitely be watching this one. Im sure EA would not resurrect the Hot Pursuit name if they wernt confident they could deliver what that title stands for.

Robin.

I'm looking forward to this game. No silly aftermarket spoilers or body kits to be seen. A bunch of exotic cars. An environment reminiscent to NFS II and Hot Pursuit 1. I believe Need For Speed has finally gone back to its roots (and means it this time).

It is. About. 🤬 time.

This is what NFS is all about & if it leaves out the tuning & street racey stuff from previous games, I will def. buy this.

I must admit, I'm not convinced by the trailers and current videos, but if it does turn out like they're saying it will, then I'm all for it. As much as this is still done by Criterion games, I'm still scarred from previous crap from the NFS name.

A few questions
is it for ps3?
does it have offline gameplay?
interior view?
free roam?
release date?
I appreciate that no one may know but thanks in advance.

Yes. The demo they showed was on the PS3, actually.
Yes. Two careers: Cop and Racer.
I don't know.
Yes.

Beat you by a few seconds :dopey:. Your answers were a bit better than mine, though.
I'd like also mention that it is released in North America on the 16th, but Europe gets it two days later, on the 18th.

I'm really looking forward to this game. My playstation is going to have a complete meltdown later this year. GT5, F1 2010, TDU2, and now this. 👍 I practically lived on the original NFS games many years ago. Glad to see them going back to their roots. 👍

An interesting preview here : "We want the racer to feel like the rabbit, and the cop to feel like the dog." Like the dog, the cop is more powerful--not only will police cars be faster, they also won't take damage...

I have been asking for a Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 remake for many years. This will be a dream come true if they finally do this. I have not seen the video yet.

Knowing what they did with Burnout Paradise, this might turn out to be the best NFS in years.

I was a huge fan of NFS on the PS1 (mainly II, III and PU, didn't really like IV:HS). But since Underground NFS has never been the same. UG1 & UG2 were good games, but they are not true NFS games. Never played HP2 or MW, both of which people said were the last good NFSs. After Carbon the series went downhill. The whole import tuner scene and storyline gets really boring and the series stopped evolving basically. Shift was good but it's still not a true NFS.

As long as Criterion/EA doesn't put too much gimmicks in this game, HP3 could be the true 'return' to NFS' roots 👍.

If the intro's anything like this...

...and the main menu soundtrack like this...

...I'll be over the moon :dopey:

Just a question though, for the 4 pre-order cars, can you get them all by pre-ordering in one store? And is it available in EU/AU?
