NFS Hot Pursuit 3

Legend-1: NFS III: HP was my first PS1 game. I'm sure I must've played that thing over 150 hours. Best game in the serious, in my humble opinion. I had hours of fun with my brother and friends... Those were the times. Thanks for bringing those memories back, as well as that beautiful intro.

How about a 4 lap, expert hot pursuit race in Empire City at night and with rain...? You SERIOUSLY needed to be good to pull this off.
 
There was supposed to be some more info released for this game today at 10AM. Anything yet? Gamespot is apparently not updating their website yet.
 
I am not quite sure about the "open" world in this video. I liked the checkpoint type races in the original. I am still really excited but just nitpicking at this point.
I wonder if the single player will have the slow motion 3d spin around cinematic when you take a huge jump or take massive damage.
I also want to see the helicopter drop barrels and shoot missles.

Dude, it's Criterion. Play Burnout Paradise, everytime you jump you get a slow motion-esque sequence and the camera pans around snapping those angles. And pretty much no one knows destruction like they do - if they can make it believable the police cars would have machine guns coming from the hood. :lol:
 
That gameplay looked pretty promising actually, I was impressed. I loved the way the vents on Lamborghini opened and closed, I haven't seen many games that actually do that.
 
I have to say it looks a lot like a combination of Hot Pursuit 2 and Most Wanted to me, which is a very good thing. The visuals (even though i've only seen them via a video) look fantastic too:tup:.

 
I agree it does look like a mix between Most Wanted and Hot Pursuit 2. I also agree that the graphics already look very good. Hopefully they have the waterfall level from Hot Pursuit 2. I forgot the name of that map but it was my favorite.

It's Reventón and SuperVeloce.

Cayanne should be Cayenne, Koinegsegg should be Koeningsegg and Cheverolet - Chevrolet.

Sorry but i'm really picky when it comes to manufacturer and model spellings. ;)

Just a couple of changes to your car list, it's a Lamborghini LP670 SV, the SUV is definitely a Porsche Cayenne, it's a McLaren MP12-4C, the Pagani is actually the Pagani Zonda Cinque (it says in tiny writing when the car comes on). Oh, and during the demo you can also see a blue Audi A4/S4 on the roads as traffic.

Yeah it'd be cool if you could, but I doubt it. The Audi looked pretty low-res like most traffic cars on other games. But it was still easy to make out what it was.
 
Yup...updates and corrections made.

Although....they showed both a Mustang Pursuit car and a Charger Pursuit car, which I assume will end up being playable, so, the Cayenne might be, as well.

Another observation. the Pursuit cars seem to be slightly different variations of the race cars. i.e. The Reventon and the LP670 SV. Not the same car, but pretty close performance wise.

I would suspect that if they do pursuit versions of the other cars it'd be something like:

Race: Challenger R/T
Pursuit: Challenger SRT8

Race: Porsche Cayenne
Pursuit Porsche Cayenne Turbo S

Race: Ford Mustang GT
Pursuit: Ford 350KR or something

Race: Chevy Camaro SS
Pursuit Chevy Camaro SS with a Corvette engine

etc.

I have a feeling it will be a bit like Midnight Club Los Angeles - some cars in the traffic were ones that you could drive (such as the Chevy Cobalt and Camaro) but they were in lower resolution.

Yeah I can imagine it being like that too. I forgot that Midnight Club did that actually.
 
that doesn't surprise me. And I can confirm that the Pursuit Cayenne's were the Turbo S and the traffic version is just the regular Cayenne

you can get all of them by ordering from EA at least, but I suspect you can get them from pre-ordering from anywhere.
 
Hopefully that's true. I'll go to my local gaming store and check.

I have been feeling the same way. Hot Pursuit 2 has always been my favorite game of the series and the more I hear about this game, the more I want to put Hot Pursuit 2 into my PS2.

From what I can tell, in order to evade, you have to get out of the cops range, wich is represented by red/blue pulse on the mini-map.
