NFS Hot Pursuit 3

Closest game that has given me that cop chase Hot Pursuit 2 experience is Test Drive Unlimited. For some reason TDU really gave me that feeling all over again. :)

Hey what the?! I only just found out about this game. Looks pretty good actually, HPS2 was my favourite Need For Speed game ever, and they always made for great fun in multi-player.:) I hope this will have split screen.:odd: So long as the gameplay is simply fun, the visuals awesome and plenty of gameplay features, it should be nothing but awesome.:) The release date is so close to GT5 though.:nervous: How will I find time for both?!

Aah the Lambo cop, seeing it in that video is like seeing a legend in the flesh, the Lambo cop is a classic part of NFS games.:) It had a sense of epic-ness simply by appearing.

Edit: I know this gets asked all the time, but anybody know where I can go to find as much info as possble on this game? I can't even find the official website.:boggled: A car list in particular.

Edit 2: OK I found the website, but no hard info really.

HP2 was also my favorite of the series. Thats why I was sooooooo excited when I heard about this coming to the 360. I have been asking for this game for at least 10 years.

That's some mighty patience you have there, not really something I expected of a V8 owner, you guys don't tend to hang around very long, always speeding off into the distance at remarkable speed.:sly:
These pre-order cars, would they be in the game regardless of if I get the Collector's Edition with a pre-order? Should they just be unlocked through regular gameplay?

For me, this is what need for speed is all about. Exotic supercars, exotic roads and aggressive and flashy police cars.

Let's just hope it plays well.

minor changes made to the car list. The Pursuit Cayanne is the Turbo not the Tubro S (the lettering can be seen and read in one of the pics on the website), moved the Charger SRT8 to the pursuit section and added 16.4 to the Veyron.

By the way: NFS HP got Best Racing Game of E3 this year. This is big because it's the first time a NFS title has gotten it since the first Hot Pursuit back in 1998.

I never liked the NFS series, especially with the flop of NFS: Shi(f)t (don't get me wrong, but it just does not fit ANYWHERE, most arcade and sim lovers hate it). But a few months ago i got NFS : Hot Pursuit 2, and i'm suprised of how awesome it is. The graphics are great, gameplay is gorgeous...why did EA revert to the bling-bling gangsta non-sense? NFS Underground is where the NFS series went downhill. But finally they go back to their roots, did it really take 8-9 years for EA to understand what the real NFS-fans want?

But still, HP3 won't run on my PC. :sly:

The Underground games(both) for the time were better than everything up to NFS:Shift. But if you never liked the games why did you keep playing them all. Plus Shift is an awesome racing game with the G27.

By the way the only duds EA has Released were Carbon and Undercover. Maybe your standards are just too high to enjoy some games. Going go the wait and see approach for HP3....

I agree Shift was terrible and Hot Pursuit 2 is still the best game of the series. I also agree that it took them way to long to get back to their roots.

Most Wanted and Underground 2 were actually pretty good games in their own right (Underground 1 was pretty decent, but not much more). Underground 2 in particular is a game I'd say isn't that far off from the best game in the series, Porsche Unleashed.

That isn't to say that I'm glad EA have gone all Hot Pursuit on us again, but it isn't as if the entire time that they weren't doing so was some kind of slur. It wasn't until Carbon that the series dive bombed into crap.

Agreed, but. Carbon and Undercover are the two worse since Most wanted. But the clowns responsible for those games now work for United front games. For me, the best is the one you always want to play. Not the feeling you had when you first played it. The one I'd always want to play is Shift. Blackbox is out of the spotlight now so the NFS games will just get better, one year at a time.

Still I want to see more of the racing. I haven't seen anything so far for a day one buy. two weeks after GT5 its going to be a tough sell for PS3 users. Other wise it will be a 2011 discounted buy.

I have to jump on the anticipation bandwagon with this one. As much as they NFS games are rubbish for realism, I have always enjoyed them. I haven’t played any of new crop since Most Wanted. I didn’t mind the first Underground as it was a little different to what the series had been to date, but Underground 2 & MW were both underwhelming for me and I lost interest in the franchise completely. My favorites of the series have to be HP2 followed by Porsche Unleashed and the very first one.

I’m that excited about it actually that last night I brushed off the dust from my copy of HP2 and had a blast with it for a solid few hours. I had totally forgotten how much I really enjoy this game.

To like Porsche Unleashed you have to like Porsche. Not being one of those people, my favorites are, in order:

HP2
HP1
High Stakes
MW
HP3 (note, since it's not out yet, it's at the bottom of the list, but it'll probably jump to the top once it's out.)

Mmm, HSV hasn't been in NFS since the last HPS, I can dream of a return.:P

This game is shaping up to be something fairly awesome. I've always loved the Need For Speed series. The only way an arcade handling model makes sense is when the premise is eye-swivellingly bat**** insane.

I don't think it's been said yet BUT:

Although they said there will be a Cop version of each racer model, the Reventon is the ONLY car that will be exclusively a cop car, no racer counterpart.

Also to add to the tools/arsenal of each side, someone also mentioned there's some sort of tiers to them too (red highlighted meaning the last weapon to earn through a Hot Pursuit session):

Cops:
Roadblock - random cops stopping in the middle of the road.
Air Support - Helicopter
Spike Strip - Pop them wheels and capture the racers (requires a helicopter to be present)
EMP's - Presumably similar to the ones seen in 2F2F, disable the engine (requires a helicopter to be present)

Racers:
Radar Jammer - Cops lose track of you on their radar (presumably) for a short period of time.
Overdrive - Super Boost
Decoy - Visual illusions/ Seeing Double etc.
All Weapons Jammer - disable all of the cops' arsenal (Can't call for Roadblocks, helicopters, etc).

Source? I think someone already posted the video up, i refer you to that.

If that's the case I wonder what determines when one unlocks the next weapon to use...Perform 5 side checks to unlock the first weapon?

Another "Dual playthrough for platinum trophy" game though. Once through for Cops another from Racers. :P Great thing about NFS games, they've been notoriously easy to platinum/get all achievements. I mean Most Wanted was completed simply by completing career mode.

There's supposed to be more on this game at Gamescom this week.👍

There's also a limited edition in the works.

EA ANNOUNCES NEED FOR SPEED HOT PURSUIT LIMITED EDITION
COLOGNE, GERMANY – August 17, 2010 – Criterion Games, a studio of Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS) today announced a Limited Edition version of Need for SpeedTM Hot Pursuit, this holiday’s hottest action racing game. Need for Speed Hot Pursuit is bringing the intensity of cops vs. racers to the connected generation. The Limited Edition features six of the world’s fastest cars that players can use to race and chase their friends, right out of the box. Available at participating retailers at the same price as the standard version, the Limited Edition packs added value for speed junkies, while supplies last.

The Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Limited Edition delivers six exotic cars; Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, Ford Shelby GT500, Audi TT RS Coupé, Chevrolet Camaro SS, Porsche Cayman S and Dodge Challenger SRT8. The Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione and Ford Shelby GT500 are only available in the Limited Edition – and will not be available at any other time. For those players who miss the opportunity to pick up the Limited Edition, the Audi TT RS Coupé, Chevrolet Camaro SS, Porsche Cayman S and Dodge Challenger SRT8 can be unlocked by leveling up in the game.

These high-powered racing machines give players a day-one advantage when they compete – and beat – their friends on the open road. Whether playing in real-time live multiplayer or challenging and comparing races with friends offline, Limited Edition owners have an edge over their friends – an especially important benefit since the game is all about the connected social experience. At the heart of Need for Speed Hot Pursuit is a groundbreaking network called Autolog that tracks cop and racer performances and uses those statistics to generate fierce competition between friends by dynamically changing the way they play the game. By having the fastest cars on the road, players can challenge their friends, destroy their times and bask in the glory of their humiliation.

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit recently won the prestigious ‘Best Racing Game’ award at the Electronic Entertainment Expo from the Game Critics Awards. Need for Speed Hot Pursuit will be available on Nov. 19, 2010 in the UK on the Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and PC. Need for Speed Hot Pursuit will also be available on the WiiTM and is being developed by Exient.

The intensity of Most Wanted's police chases mixed with Hot Pursuit's classic game play of you & 3 racers all running from the police.

Couple things:
~Liked the day-night transition. Didn't really notice it til' it got dark.
~Don't like that every time someone is wrecked, they do barrel rolls.
~The AI looked like it took most of the road blocks/spike strips for you except for the GT-R. Didn't expect the Lambo. to rubber band so fast either.
~Zonda was cool, hoping pursuers like it have more of a presence though.

Other than that, I'm impressed. Now to wait & see what kind of offer Gamestop will do if you pre-order through them.

Wow, having the Alfa as LE only actually makes me reconsider whether I want to buy the game. I don't like spending extra money on LE's, and I certainly don't like doing so just so that I can drive my favourite car. I love my Alfa, and not being able to play it cos I didn't pay extra money would annoy me enormously.

I mean, I'd still buy it, but this is the difference between a day one purchase and "I'll pick it up second-hand when I see it cheap". Argh.

There is no price difference between the normal and LE version, simply a limited number of normal versions will have the codes.(at least from what I read)
