NFS Hot Pursuit 3

Naw I like the HP2 intro more than most wanted, but the intro in HP2 just had too much "powersliding". I didn't like the idea where the last racer turns around and is "hinted" that they're going to do some next getaway move (i.e. High Stakes and Mostwanted).

Still though, seeing a PD Diablo just brought back so many memories.

in case anyone doesn't know, Black Box is already working on a Underground 3, so expect a Shift 2 an Underground 3 in the next year or so.

Hmm. That is rather... Exciting. The NFS Underground games have always been good at what they are: Arcade racing games for fun. I wish they don't change the formula since the previous two games were great.

Well, they need cops, if anything. And make them more like Carbon cops - they were there for fun. In MW - they were needed for the storyline.
I'd buy U3 only if they've got cops.

Carbon was essentially Underground 3. It had all the same elements and just added Cops. Undercover was like MW2. Maybe Criterion will make a High Stakes 2 after they're done with Burnout 6. (I believe it's going to be called Burnout Paradise 2, but I'm not sure)

judging from the trends of names CG gives to their games and given that "Paradise" was derived from a song, i HIGHLY doubt it will be named Paradise again. They would do something new and the name will reflect upon it.
The Next Game will be Burnout Destruction, the only way around the place is in crash mode.

The SPCD Ford GT was one of the sickest looking polic cars ever, despite having the Stars all over it. 0:38 if you were curious. I just play and stop really quickly because it flashes through really quick.

This is going to be a top NFS game, I just wish it had cockpit view.... oh well that isn't something to deter me from pre-ordering the game

Me neither, it's a tad annoying but I can live without it on a game like this.

REALLY looking forward to this game.👍 All those cop cars!!.:embarrassed:

Alright, so, I'm noticing a lot of Burnout Paradise in some of the recent news:

Number of cars in HP: approximately 75.
Number of cars in BOP at the start: 74.

HP has a large open world, just like Burnout Paradise.

All cars in HP will have police counterparts.
The last DLC for Burnout Paradise was the "Cops and Robbers" pack that added police versions of all the original cars.

It's beginning to sound like Criterion is really taking some things they've learned and liked from Burnout Paradise and combining it with the Hot Pursuit series. Should be interesting.

According to that list, there are 66 cars in HP, and if you're counting paradise cars only and no purchase-only DLCs, then 75 cars + 4 bikes.

I beleive you're wrong about the ALL HP cars have a police counterpart... the Convertibles certainly don't come in cop form, nor do every single variation of the gallardo

Despite being large, there are very few intersections so it'll for the most part feel like a single road forever.

Why wouldn't the convertibles have a police form? and you make it sound like there's going to be 60 Gallardos and 6 other cars or something. The Reventon is the only one that won't have a Cop counter part, like the F1 car in BOP.

Criterion has already mentioned that all cars besides the Reventon, will have a police counterpart.

Funny, a couple of places in Seacrest resemble (practically mirroring) some areas in Paradise City.

I'm already hooked, I was going to pick this up anyway, but the environment alone is convincing enough.

I'm pretty positive that there will just be 1 Gallardo cop car, not 4.

I don't know. I can see 4 different Gallardo cop cars with 4 different liveries. It wouldn't really be fair if a racer got a Gallardo SL and the cop was only in the regular Gallardo...and who said there were going to be 4 Gallardos?

But the point was that it seems that HP will actually be Burnout Paradise with license cars, a newer physics engine and some more HP elements.

I don't know. Carbon was supposed to be a sequel to Most Wanted, story wise. Carbon just didn't feel anywhere close to the Underground series. It was like Most Wanted, just at night. The Underground series to me, is the extensive upgrades to the cars, ordinary street cars, and free roam of course. It was never really about chases, pursuit breakers, or even exotics.

Ever since Underground 2, customization went down the drain, so I don't think any games after it are its successor in any way.

It shouldn't matter anyways. I wouldn't be surprised if the cops in this game are going to have a bit of a speed advantage compared to their street variant.
...and who said there were going to be 4 Gallardos?
Car list. Go back 3 pages; Balboni, 560-4, Spyder, Superleggera.

Looking at that leaked list and I don't know if it's entirely accurate. EVERY model that has a spyder version has it's spyder version in the game. Why? I can see that for Test Drive Unlimited 2, but it's rather pointless in a arcade pursuit game. Seriously. Criterion mentioned that there were a couple cars they weren't revealing as a surprise and that there were a couple cars that you wouldn't see in any other game which suggests they've got some more exclusive licenses. But...I don't know. There seems to be a LOT of repetition for a franchise that hardly ever has the same car twice with just a different trim. However, it maybe that the Spyders are the Racer versions and the hardtops are the Pursuit versions. But I guess we'll find out in a little over a month.

I agree - no offense meant to SuperShouden, but saying Carbon was a spiritual successor to Underground 1 and 2 makes me cringe. I just feel like Carbon was so far removed from the Underground series (mainly due to the handling, but everything else was "wrong" too) that a comparison seems almost impossible.

I would take a true Underground 3 over any other Need For Speed game any day.

The Reventon has been spotted as a police car already.

I wouldn't agree 100% on this either, watch closely in videos how cars drift in-game.... they slide like the tires provide no grip, it slides so lightly as if the car was floating on feathers. look at hot pursuit 2, you couldn't slide through a turn like that you had too actually hit the brakes, let go of gas the car would oversteer a bit, and slow down a bit.

It seems like the more videos i watch the more i become disappointed.

But now after looking at the map, I'm curious to see if it's possible to make custom routes for races (not pursuits). It's probably not going to happen though.. Can't have short routes making it easy to gain racer bounty, right?

The list was leaked by BADNED. That name alone should tell you there's a good chance of it being pretty accurate.
