I know this isn't the correct place for this thread, so mods, you may move this thread to a more suitable location.

As always, there is a new NFS game being released this year, but that's not important. What is important, is a new game from Ubisoft called 'The Crew.' From the trailer & gameplay video it looks absolutely speechless. All of the features that are said to be in the game sound crazy or impossible. We all know that the NFS franchise has been sagging with there last few games. But, since EA has Porsche by the balls, they think they can do whatever they want. As you would expect, this will upset many people with myself included. Well all of our suffering should finally be brought to an end. Ubisoft will be releasing a new game called 'The Crew' in early 2014 for XBox One & PS4. I shall now give you a quick rundown of some of the games more 'outrageous' features:

-An open world environment spanning the entire US of A, coast to coast.
-The ability to break down any car and build it to you liking.
-Elimination of loading screens to create a more interactive environment.
-A multitude of challenges both on & off road.

There is much more to see, so I will let you see for yourself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuSvOYkBx24

So what do you think? Is it the game we have been dreaming about all of our life?

And the President promised to make the country a better place.... We'll see once the game is nearly release.

I'm amazed at the size of the map, especially when you consider the detail of it graphics-wise. Also looks to be a variety of cars, hopefully with a good level of customization.
But like Rainbow Dash said, we'll have to see nearer/on release if this game is actually any good.

As Mr. Sullivan said in his interview, it's going to be interesting how developers decide what "next gen gameplay" will mean.

They both have the single and multi being one and the same, but going off the gameplay footage of each give a different experience. NFS has player 1 interrupt player 2 during an event already in progress. TC has player 1 help player 2 with an event not started yet. NFS seems like an every man for themselves game while TC is going for a WoW with cars. If you can team up with other racers or cops in NFS then it might be like TC, but for now NFS looks like you do your own thing whenever you want, while TC is really incorporating clan play (and clan battles hinted at the end of the video).

That sounds about right. Rivals looks more solo focused, as opposed to The Crews, uhh, crew setup. When did we last see something like this? Wasn't it Carbon?

Anyways, on top of that, Rivals will be basically a direct Hot Pursuit 2010 successor, focusing HEAVILY on open road racing. The Crew seems like a mix of GTA and an RPG. That said, I don't think we can reeeally consider these direct competitors like we can Forza and GT. They do look good though.

Well the website Polygon.com said it was Ubisofts effort to make a significant dent in Need For Speeds dominance in arade-action racing, which is why I brought it up for debate.

IMO NFS doesn't even touch Burnout in the arcade-action racing department so those guys are targeting the one series.

To my knowledge the Burnout series has always been below NFS sales wise until Paradise, which is why EA put Criterion in charge of NFS so they could make the same types of games under the NFS name. I can't think of any arcade racer that outsells NFS except possibly Ridge Racer.
