Please go ahead and make a better banner!​

Now that we have quite a large NFS:S userbase here, I was thinking that we should start organising some NFS:Shift meetups. What do I mean by meetups? Not necessarily racing. We can always 'cruise' with our favourite cars online on some tracks, show off our pride and joy, and soon after have some friendly races. It also gives us all a chance to meet some other GTP'ers and get to know each other. Basically the host (anybody, obviously) would set up a long race on a track, most likely either the Ring, Spa, or Silverstone (Full). At the end it's better to quit the race so it will not show up on our 'losses', then simply re invite everybody. You can bring any car you like, however it's preferable to bring your own which you have tuned in some way. It's also a little easier to organise this if we know who has microphones, so if everybody dosen't mind, could you please state so if you do have a microphone, I will then update this post accordingly.

Tell us your opinion on it, and if there's people interested we can start up some meetups 👍

8AM GMT on any day from now onwards is an appropriate time for most people, however it mostly suits the EU and Pacific region. This is ofcourse assuming that most people in the U.S will not be staying up late.

I personally am sorry for not organising this better, it's just that I've been quite busy with 'other stuff' going on outside of GTP. I'm glad to see that people are using this idea themselves and meeting up with each other.

I would be interested for sure, all of us CRUISING around on the Nurb would be awesome, shame is I only have the game till thursday, after that I need some money to rent it again.
 
Count me in. During weekdays I'm usually on between 20:00 and 22:00 CET. During weekends that period is usually extended by an hour or two. I had some very nice laps with mr_V and Hyper yesterday, would be nice if other people could join in too. 👍
 
I'm busy at work a lot during the week but play a lot at the weekend and would definitely be up for some racing and cruising - supercars on the ring would be awesome.

Im down for this too... just add me in your friends list... Had a couple races with Mr_V so far... MC12 GT1 on the Ring was a lot of fun... before that we had a race with Cossies on the Ring and Zabeu was in an RX8... Spa is also nice :) If I ahve time when the meet is going down I will be there for sure! 👍

May I suggest something similar way to meet online, like we have in Prologue?

Example:

Race Schedule for cars under 4.00, xx.00-xx.30

Online / Versus / Custom Race / Private... and then choose Long-race and 4.0-cars. I'm not sure yet, but I think that Shift will throw you to right address after that...? We maybe should vote for different tracks for different days too, so matching would be more better.

I need to take look at to online more... I'll be back at night!

Its probably best though if someone hosts and then invites everyone there to their room... I also saw that if you make a ranked race you can only edit some of the options... if you want to be able to edit all options in the online section you need to start an unranked race... The friends list plays an important role here since there is no room list available... :)
 
I'd be happy to host when I'm online, 20 Mbit down/2.5MBit up should be enough for eight players. :)

It is.... but it also depends on the car level restriction on the race... So if the race has the right car level restriction... going from 4.00 to unrestricted (Race cars) So if your car is not exceeding the level set for the race, you can choose your own car by going to car selection screen and pressing R1 or L1 I think to cycle through the car lists of available cars...

I just did check those private-options, and I'm littlebit vicer. It was nice to see, that all performance-tweaks are there too! Looks that I need to buy some cars more to my Garage and tune them up to 4, 6, and, hmmm was it 10? No sense to go online 4.00-race with car like 2.60!

I think 10 would be some Tier 3 cars maybe even Tier 4... unrestricted you get into race cars... The MC12 GT1 is a fun one.. I raced that one on the Ring with Mr_V 👍 REALLY FAST... sometime even scary fast :)

Edit: I kind of like the car restriction values... because if your car is 2.60 and youre going into a 4.00 race you need to upgrade a little, but also think about what upgrades will give you the best benefit :) So that is a challenge in itself as well 👍

Yep!

This whole thing just opened to me now. :lol: Few days ago I was driving some races with car from available ones, so I took just some without watching it's performance... I really were amazed how good my opponents were, when they disappeared to horizon!

And that's not all. You have to make a choice of which components you are going to fit/upgrade. Are you going for handling, speed or a combination? And that choice in turn affects what you can or cannot tune. The possibilities are endless. :)
 
Stick me down too, just add me to your friends lists. Could do with some testing against other cars Dutch Customs I'm looking at you! LOL
 
I have few hours time to race after 'perfect housewifes', or something like that...

I will create Silverstone GP-course with restriction mixed-cars under 4.00 since next full hour hits. Race-length 5 laps

The problem with the online is all of the rooms are random, unless you use the friends list. It makes it hard to find races you want to run :(
 
Huh!

...I just tooked few laps with Mr_V in Green Hell. Ouch... it's so damn bumpy track with GT2's! Not the best car to take first race in there.


Edit: ...Fun Factor? Yep... this game certainly has potential in that! I was just too horrified to feel anything than fear. :lol:
