Glad to see you all had a great time last weekend.
And a big thanks to Mo for the decision making on the number of laps.
It's good to be back and after a 250 odd mile drive I was knackered but had to race not great results but that wasn't just my driving, But still good fun.

Well fellow Shifters after I have had a little time to reflect on this weeks events given the fact that this is my 3rd session or season as you may have it. I would say that this is by far the best program I have participated in. The genius in picking one car that we stay with and can work over, for the different tracks that come up for that car, is nothing but brilliant. Then the Touring Car concept that throws curve balls to those that aren’t prepared or look at a particular car as less then desirable is just the best. Then you have the previous champion input program, picking combos with cars that can’t be modified is spectacular. I have to hand it to Add and Mo, you guys have set a standard that other leagues should look at and say “that’s the premiere program to emulate” .

I don’t know what it is, but I am feeling like I’m back on my scooter again. This is the standard that I use to tell if my racing is a rush or a job. Yes I have had to apply more time to practicing the programs and that is unfortunately what it takes for me to get into the zone. So maybe that’s the common denominator, you know what they say “how do you get to Madison Square Garden?” practice, practice, practice. Well fellows I have practiced more this season then I have in the other two and I don’t intend on slowing down my program.

I just love what you guys have come up with and I want to say thanks. You have forced me to bring my game up to a different level and I am loving it. It consumes my every thought, I know I sound obsessed with this, but in my world this is what makes me go. I can’t get enough good competition. It’s like I’m the only one left from my group of psychos that thought going fast was fun. You guys have to realize that when we did this stuff it was real. Every week we put it on the line risking so much and it was worth it.

I'm so pissed at ea, and myself. I was doing solid practice runs with very competitive lap times, but come race day the physics seem to change? Anyone else experience this? Maybe it's just me. Oh well, looking forward to tomorrow's enduros. I may not be able to challenge on the ring with the MP4, but the M1 race I feel pretty confident about. Good racing with everyone, Sorry if I got into anyone in the races, I didn't have the rear view mirror on so it was hard to tell where other racers were at. Hope to challenge a bit better next weekend though!

I too have thought that every once in a while, the online experience is a little different from my practice sessions. Usually it only happens when someone is hot on my heals or I’m experiencing butterflies. It’s one of those things that I expect to happen online so I adjust for less traction. Another weird thing happens when we are online in the league races and that is, I somehow break my best practice times so I feel that they offset each other.

------------------------ vid reflection --------------------------

I just got done watching Sharks vid on the 5th race, I’m bummed that my oversight in the last turn gobbled up Mo and me. We were battling back and forth, neck and neck. What a great battle we were having and the Fn curb opened me up and there I was hung out flat tracking the Marro. I actually thought I might have been able to save it but Mo was right there…..lol, sorry dude. Shark was in the classic “Cat Bird Seat” good race Shark, like they say “yah had ta be there to get it”…….lol

There is no problem Lefty, it can happen to everyone. As happened with me in race 1.. after I saw back my vid, I saw why you disappeared behind me... I didn't feel anything on my car, I thought you were just spinning around because of too much of gas, but now I'm really not sure about it.. lol
BTW, we had great race there Lefty, I wish we could have more and more races like that! (have to say, you became a bit more aggressive, but it is all ok, this is racing or what :) )

Videos will be posted tomorrow. Sorry but first I have to mute the audio... need to be censored... As it is ussual now, you have the opportunity to compare my univesum to Shark's if you will watch both of our videos...

Sorry if I got into anyone in the races, I didn't have the rear view mirror on so it was hard to tell where other racers were at. Hope to challenge a bit better next weekend though!
I can't imagine how could you race untill now without the mirror... than it is not surprising you didn't see what is happenning behind you, but not a reason you can't see what is happening in front of you...
Hope you'll watch my videos back Fresh, and you'll comment what happened and why LOL (no anger in my words mate, just a bit fustrated because I still can't decide if you still have lag problems or not)

Nice races, good results Shark! Congrat mate!

I think I understand your reflection but were you talking about the first race or the fifth race? The impacts on my car were similar after I stalled it in front of you in the first and fifth races.

I talk about the GT2 race. I think in the 2nd or 3rd lap we were close to each other, I saw (thought) you went off the track, and I came out from the turn before you. But I can't decide if it was my fault that you were spinning around or you gave too much gas because I didn't feel any contact between our cars.

In the 5th race I think it was the same from your view, you didn't think I was there.. You came into my left end and I tryied to turn right with all of my power, but I could't steer my car into the right direction

Anyway, my vids are on their way, tomorrow I can post them

In my world, lol (how screwed up is this game that I have to say that), I was stalking Shark with you hot on my heels. It was on lap 2 after the high speed sweeper to the right, going into the first set of chicanes, while diving into the left hander the rear end came around and shot me right in front of you, “ka boom” lol. It was my fault totally and it is so weird that your view could be different, I never went off the track what so ever, lol.

I can't comment because you haven't told me where or when I got into you. I don't have any issues with lag anymore, but Shift does some stupid things, we all know this. After the first two races I did put on my rear view mirror. I turned it off before a while ago because I always concentrate on whats ahead of me, not behind me, so the mirrors were distracting somewhat. I've got it on now though. But really, if you could point out which race and where or when it happened it'd help alot if I got into you. According to some, we see things that are totally different than what you might see. So I could be on the clean, and on your side I could be blocking you or cutting you off etc. You get what I mean? I don't think- even without lag- that Shift's servers are perfect, you get kicked off every now and then regardless. That's not us, that's EA.

You know Fresh I really love your spunk, but what you have to understand around here is, there is a pecking order. You earn your respect around here, and the edge that can be applied to some event, has to be done with some, well how do you say, protocol. The mirror thing is something I have never heard before :banghead:. I don’t know if I should laugh my ass off or just cry for you. Dude get a clue, we all want new blood around here, but the obvious stuff is just head shaking.

what'chu you talking bout willis? racing with a mirror would be useless before as my connection was pretty ass, so instead of worrying about cars disappearing and reappearing in my mirror, i switched it off. I don't get get all into the 'pecking order' thing you're talking about. I'm here to race, I don't care if someone is better or more experienced. I raced with what I had, and it wasn't much. Even these last races it was my first time racing you guys with an actual good connection. Obviously you must have me confused or view me as some loser rookie who doesn't know how to race or doesn't care for his competitors. That's not the case. I haven't raced with the mirror in so long it just felt like I wasn't missing anything. I can't press triangle the whole race so there's times were I didn't know where people were at behind me. To be honest I completely forgot about it and thankfully add told me how to change the hud.

OK, videos are posted.

As YouTube didn't like my muted-converted videos, I had to upload the originals..
Sorry for every words "starting with letter F", I tried to "audio swap" the vids where are too much of them..

Can somebody share his laptimes for this week? I've not make any practice and interested what times have i to hit...

Thanks forwardly

First runs from last night

Laguna Seca: GT2- 1:27.515 /4 lap race; VW Scirocco (my touring car) 1:33.720 /4 lap race

London River: DBR9- 1:17.188 /3 lap race 1st run; 1:16.493 /4 lap race 2nd run

perhaps you would do better than me, my gt2 is uncontrollable out of turns, much like the toyota corolla, I have to find a solution in my tuning.

What is your decision Add? Do we have to re-run the last week's races, or can we go ahead for this week's combos?

Edit: no answer = OK.
I've sent you the tables Add to update the 1st post.
But if there is no need from me to do it, please tell me

Well howdy dudey fellow Shifterz, I surfaced finally to say hay. I hope the racing went good last week. Sorry I couldn’t show but I had to do the crew chief thing for Little Lefty. I had to totally rebuild his Go Kart and since he’s bigger, I now know how to upholster and mount a new Go Kart seat. I had to rebuild his foot controls, engine, and carburetor. Since I am trying to get him ready for his first race I won’t be racing this next week either. We only got about 8 laps of shake down this last time at the track because the cylinder loosened up and blew the base gasket. We will be going back to the track this weekend again for another attempt at a full day of practicing.

Good luck to everyone this week but for me real is where it’s at and this year is Littles last chance to race this Kart. There are 2 races left this year before he turns 13 and we have to buy a new kart for him. I will try to show up for races when I know we won’t be out at the track practicing or racing on a given weekend.

PS: I just reserved the F1 2010 game for the ps3 :)

GTP SHIFT LEAGUE RULES:
To keep things fair a few rules are necessary.
· All drivers must use Pro Handling mode. We know what to look for, and it is not difficult to spot when people are driving in Experienced or Normal difficulty mode and you will be ejected from the group for cheating.

· No Driving Assists: No traction, stability or steering assists. If you want to use ABS braking that?s up to you.
· No cutting corners and chicanes. At least 2 tires should remain on the track at all times (unless of course you are in the process of wrecking your car in which case, have at it!). We can?t obviously enforce this rule in most cases, but try to keep the car on the track.
· Use of Nitrous is OK: Unless forbidden for a particular race

· Restart Rules: In the event that a driver(s) gets disconnected from a race within the first three laps, the race will be restarted. After three laps the race must continue to it?s finish. A race may be restarted only twice for disconnects to keep League sessions a reasonable length.

· Bump Rule: Any driver bumped from the server after the half-way point of a race will receive points equal to the position he occupied when he was disconnected. ?Or- The driver may instead choose to re-run the race during the Sunday Make-up Race.

· Make-Up Races: Those who can?t make the Saturday League races for whatever reason may arrange to run the race on Sunday with any others that missed the previous day?s event.
The time and hosting of the make-up race will be coordinated between the participants.
A number of volunteer drivers to fill out the race lobby will be required to make the field the same size as on a regular Saturday League race.
Full Points for the Sunday Make-up Race will be awarded only to the drivers who missed the Saturday race
· A microphone/headset is of course optional, but highly recommended.
o Please mute your microphone during the League races, to prevent disconnects from excessive bandwidth usage.
o As a good alternative to a microphone, the Chat Room will allow players to communicate before & between races.

Shift League Racing Ettiquette
If you are forced off the track by contact with another car, you may hit Reset to get back into the race as quickly as possible.
If you go off the track due to your own driving error, you must drive back onto the track.
Drivers may not advance their racing position by means of contact.
If you make contact with another car forcing them off the track, you must slow down and allow them to retake the position in front of you.
Due to online lag and vague collision detection in Shift, it is very possible to accidentally make contact with another car and not be aware of it. Please show patience and restraint in the event of a collision. We all try to race clean, so give each other the benefit of the doubt.

Rules Enforcement:
For future races (2/20/10) when it is brought to the attention of the League Organizer (me) that someone advanced their race position through contact, the errant driver will forfiet his final race position and be placed in a finishing position behind the person he contacted.

It is up to the driver who was run into to lodge a complaint against another driver. It is not my intention to look through the videos to find out who did what to whom. The complaint must be PM'ed to me and the errant driver by noon on Sunday.

All racing incidents are different. Some occur because of faults in the game like poor collision detection, car location mapping and internet lag, but these will affect us all impartially so the rule will be applied strictly

Uhmm -whats a Reverse Grid Car ?
