Today I went to Wal-Mart and got UC for the PS2 for $39.95. I've played it for about couple hours so far so heres what to expect. I am currently at 80%
I have beaten the storyline, the ending is pretty lame. IT IS NOT worth anything over $5!

-You CAN drive to races/events
-The map is a cut-and-paste Most Wanted, the roads are exactly the same in most spots, just with a differnet backdrop
-The graphics are a little better than Pro Street for PS2
-The Toll Booths are at least 30 feet tall
-Your starter car can get you pretty far in to the game.
-Not very many cool-down spots/pursuit breakers
-The AI traffic is one of the biggest improvements (sadly)
-The Hero driving thing isn't terrible, but its not great ether
-Cops are dumber than Most Wanted, most of the time they kill each other much to my amusement.
-The game gets better from the begening
-No more log trucks :(
-Civic and Undercover cops chase you together.
-Speedbreaker dosen't make you drift anymore.
-The game goes by fast
-You can get lots of money quick
-Heat levels confusing
-You can still get away from the cops if your tires get eaten by a spike strip.
UPDATE
-Porsche GT2 Cop cars
-Lamo Gallarado Cop cars
-Rhinos are back
-Spike strips are more often than MW
-Pursuits can still be 30min+
-Game is still to short

This game is a lot better than I thoght it would be, (I set my standards VERY low for this.) The storyline is still not better than average. It's a little to GTA-ish though. Some times the cops get all glichy and start driving around really fast even though they are disabled.

Will update as I get more info or find new stuff.

Current cars
240sx
Skyline (R34) aka SkyFly
Corvette ZO6
Konigsegge (?) ccx
350z
Shelby Mustang

I have not played the game yet (PS2), but can you respond some questions:

1- the cars have visible damage or is just cosmetic?

2- the car tuning is similar to Prostreet?

3- the driving style is like Prostreet?

Thanks.

👍

The cops get more damage than in MW, but you just get scraches.

No. It's the Carbon tuning system.

The driving style is something different, It's kind of like a MW, Carbon, and Pro Street mixed. The cars are a little twichy some times though.

not sure if its the same for ps2, but ea made a **** up with the xbox 360 version, the escort cosworth has the WRONG ENGINE. It is shown to have a 2.3l EFI SOHC, it looks like the pinto engine from a sierra, this is ridiculous, it looks absolutely nothing like the engine it actually has  Well Done EA... *sarcastic clapping*

rant over

I have not purchased/played it. I am a nfs fan. Yet havent bought anything past carbon or MW. what ever the last is. i wonder if EA has followed these responces and are working on corrections.

@ MrSmith - not at all, EA has gone from bad to worse.

I bought NFS: Undercover under the PS2 format, and I regret it. The graphics are worse than ProStreet, IMO it's like you're playing a PSX game. I would still play the game even if the gameplay is a bit flawed, as long as the graphics are similar to or even better than Most Wanted or Carbon. The car selection is huge, but I can't see their true beauty. Traffic is a BIG issue, there's rarely any innocent civilian driving in the streets. The city looks (and feels) deserted.

The driving system is somewhat tricky at first. Your car grips when you simply turn, either you're punching on the gas or letting it off. But when you brake and turn, your car slides, letting you pull off some (LAME) drifts.

@ T-Squared - one more reason why I hate the NFS series, they don't make all the cars available on all platforms..,
