Hi.

I grew up loving many things. Among a select few are the WWF, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Whose Line is it Anyway?, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Pokémon (one of 649 pictured left).

And of course, Gran Turismo.

I've played all five Gran Turismo games including GT5 Prologue, as well as a little bit of Forza Motorsport 2 on the side (my brother had an Xbox 360 for a little while). My opinions on both Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport? I really like them both equally, and I honestly believe that the Forza vs. GT comments, if any, are completely pointless and both of these franchises deserve to be discussed, not trashed by the other. 👎

Preferred Vehicle Classes: Road Cars (450-600PP), GT500, GT300, Touring Cars, LMP and Ferrari F1 every once in a while

Preferred Tire Compounds: Racing Soft for Races, Comfort Hard for Drifting

Preferred Surface: Asphalt

Preferred Steering Tech: Controller (stick) / 900° sequential gearbox Racing Wheel

I just picked up a Logitech Driving Force GT about a week ago since this post. It's proving to be a worthwhile experience so far, but I'm just getting used to it. It really makes you feel different, like you're a race car driver...kind of. I can't say that for sure, but maybe that's because I've been using a DualShock for ages, and still continue to do so today.

I'm mostly a clean racer, but I also try to be very aggressive around corners. I take most of the turns rather quickly, brake a little later than most people expect me to, and sometimes go off track or hit the wall (understeer), but I know there are mountains of drivers that can take all of the turns faster than I can and still stay on track somehow. Maybe I should step up my game soon.

I don't talk a lot, so don't expect to hear much from me.

Questions You're Probably Asking Yourself This Very Second...

- How did you find this site?
A: I was Google searching for a few things, unsurprisingly related to Gran Turismo. Why was I seeing a lot of results coming from this site?
...I just answered my own question.

- How did you get your name?
A1: KingSpeedR34 is a name I've used for quite a while; I saw some gameplay footage of Import Tuner Challenge. The last rival you raced in that game, upon defeating all the other rivals on the Shutokou was Motoya Iwasaki who went under the race name "King Speed". I thought, "Hey, that sounds cool...maybe I should tack something on at the end." So I put my favorite car at the time (the R34 Skyline) as a suffix, giving me the name "KingSpeedR34". Back then, you probably would have thought that was a mildly creative username. You might have been right.

A2: Nick Skyline just sounds awesome to me. I don't even know why or how I came up with it. It was just in my head one day, and I typed it.

- Do you want to be the very best, like no one ever was?
A: No. I just want to do the best I can, even if I don't win every race I enter, Online or otherwise. For me, it's not about winning at all. It's about having fun; how you play shouldn't matter in the long run.

- Do you prefer the DS3 or the DFGT?
A: I use both. Like I said, I've almost always used a controller, and I'm just getting used to the DFGT. I might change this answer within a month's time.

- Can you give me your control setup?
A: I can e-mail it to you if you want to try it out.

- Do you play any other games?
A: Test Drive Unlimited 2, Midnight Club Los Angeles, and a little of Motorstorm: Apocalypse or NHL 12. I just have those games, but GT5 and TDU2 are the ones I prefer.

- Are you into FPS?
A: Not really. I tried CoD:MW2 for a little while and found the controls a little complex. That's just me, however.

- What are you into, then?
A: Rhythm gaming, making/producing music, graphic art/design, and TV Tropes.

I hope to have quite a time here.
