GTPlanet, hi again.

Let see if I can ruin some "bad habits" making intros here...

When the moon shines, stars sparkle, and lights cut through darkness, it must be night racing. Initially, I wanted to talk about if the JGTC should race at night, but I kind of want this to be a topic about night racing in general. Are there advantages and disadvantages? What makes it different from racing in daylight? Do you like or prefer such races? What big race should be done at night. If the moon and stars are out, or if the sun is going down, you're welcome to this thread. So come on with the replies!

Two topics, choose one or both.

As far as the JGTC goes, an evening-to-night race at Suzuka to end the season would be GREAT!

Night racing sounds fun at first untill you watch an enduro race at night with those damn Audi's drive strait toward a camera with their headlights blairing. You can't see jack squat and neither can you see who is passing who. On the plus side I say the Bentleys look good even at night. Screw nascar and put those night lights they have around the oval track to good use for the enduro racers and that would be pretty interesting. As for JGTC, I haven't seen a lot of those races but I'd like to watch then night or day.

Seeing as the JGTC cars don't get warmed up tires after a pitstop, and at night it's usually pretty cold, that would become a problem.I would like to see some night races but it's highly unlikely that we will see them.

As I have said, imagine the JGTC rivalries get more intense at night. But I think from a non- "fan boy" (I don't like using that word) perspective, I think night racing means cooler air to race in. Maybe I think too much about all the heat of the daytime affecting car and driver. Now, night racing is even cooler (as in drop in temperature) when it is rainy. Of course, you're talking about throwing a monkey wrench into dark conditions. It is like Le Mans back in 2001 or the Phoenix race of the same year in the Rolex Sports Car series (the anti-Christ of real sportscar racing, if you ask me).

So in regards to temperatures in the air, the car, and the driver, what does nightfall do?
