Nissan’s NISMO folks are launching the craziest version of the mighty R34 Skyline GT-R, the Z-tune. Z-tune features 500 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque from a totally reworked 2.8-liter race-bred engine (up from a 2.6-liter). Other modifications include carbon fiber front bumper, hood, front fenders and chassis reinforcements. We hear they’re building only 20 of these for worldwide sale and they go on sale Dec. 20 for $166,000. Call NISMO overseas sales department (tel. 011 81-3-3767-1930) for more info.

Sounds like maybe they're using the old JGTC engine?

I think they're using the N1 spec Nismo engine (found in the Super Taikyu series, and also powering the Falken GT-R racer that competes in the 24h race at the Nurburgring). I thought Nismo already had the Z-Tune package on sale for a few years now?

Just went around Nismo's website, and it's indeed a new car. Seems odd to me, considering Nissan doesn't sell GT-Rs anymore...

They could have some stored away, hence them only selling 20.

That thing is awesome, $166 000? What would that be in Canadian dollars? Sounds like a great stocking stuffer!:sly:👍

Canada's dollar is currently sitting at 0.82 Cents american. That comes to about $202,000.00

Beautifully done. Thumbs up for NISMO. I love the carbon fibre front lip.

If I had 200k in Canadian dollars, I know what I'd spend it on now! To hell with the 911 Turbo!

That is one seriously cool car. I hope a decent car mag can get a hold of one and test it!

Umm, no it didn't.......It was actually stock, and for some reason it was slower than a stock R34.

They interviewed the actor who had it. He races with it now. he said the only thing he had to do to get it into the racing category was a suspension revision. He's made podium twice. Im talking about the light blue one in 2F,2F. Are you?

Yes they did a special on the making of 2F 2F, sadly I watched it. The skyline in 2F 2F was stock, because they didn't use the car above 30mph basically, they're different versions of this, car close up shot ones, with a more refined interior and paint and the driving ones they used, they were all stock pal, infact the skyline you were talking about was, a skyline that was in 2F 2F, but I believe it was Paul Walker that got it after the movie, and he modified it to around 900hp, My friend HAS the issue of super street with the whole article.

Hiya! :D :embarrassed:  Meow! (='.'=)

Wow! Thats a really cool looking R34! I would buy it if I have the money, but NOOO I don't. But even if someone from the U.S. wants to buy it, doesnt it have to be smogged?

And about the Fast N Furious series, what do they do with the rest of the cars when they are done filming the movies? I can see how someone such as Paul took the skyline, but what about the leftovers?

And they tore the thing on the drag strip. I laughed my arse off.

Call me skpetical, but announcements like this make me wonder if GT4 will be delayed another 4 weeks because a new Skyline is now available.

Just a thought.

They auctioned a few of them off. I think one went back to the original owner, I heard somewhere. I know the ugly green ****box is sitting in a box in Radioshack right now tho .

Excuse me?

I'm betting Kaz has most probably placed his order for one (which means a delay in the release of GT4 Online and GT for Boys since a sign in Yamauchi's desk says "gone to Germany" with the company eventually getting a postcard and photos from Nurburgring).

Is that car worth the cost? I was just wondering if it was as good as other cars in that price range... (The usual stuff... interior, exterior, specs, performance etc...)
