It was just a 2 seat hatchback that allowed you to take the hatch off completely as its main gimmick. The car in this thread and this are actually the same thing. When it was sold in America, you could buy both hatches as an extra option (as well as a soft top) and interchange them yourself; just like a hardtop for a convertible or a Jeep.
