Abstract: Hasemi Z was improved throughout the season and earned the class title despite its debut season.
In 2003, Hasemi Motor Sport entered JGTC GT300 class. They used Z33 Fairlady Z instead of S15 Silvia, which they used last year, to create a race car which fitted JAF-GT regulations. However, the difference between JAF-GT and JGTC regulations were huge. For example, in the former, car's minimum ground clearance was 90 mm, but in the latter it was 45 mm. Also, this was the first time Z33 appeared in JGTC. Therefore, it was not so competitive at first. Masahiro Hasemi, the owner and manager of Hasemi Motor Sport, said when they tried to lower the ground clearance of the car according to the JGTC regulation, its fender and tire touched each other, so they had to create a whole new car (in the interview in the GT4P guidebook published by Famitsu). Even after that, they kept on improving the car by, for instance, extending its overhang, and finally they earned the pole position at the final round of the season with 60 kg weight handicap and the GT300 class title.
I believe more GT300 cars should be included, no matter how old they are. Therefore, I suggest the 2003 GT300 champion car.
