Nissan R390 GT1 Road Car Grip and top speed Settings (Not GT1 Race Car)

I am requesting a settings for both grip and top speed for a Nissan R390 GT1 Road Car

It is hard car to tune and have no luck in tuning it despite many hard hours with the car, it has potential and can beat LM cars at their own game.

I have all the best parts e.g. full transmission, customise LSD, brake controller, racing suspension, NOS, downforce wing attached (for a max downforce of 70/85) turbo stages 2 and 3, weight reduction stage 3 and did not add the rollcage as the invokes too much understeer in the corners.

Please do not refer to the Nissan R390 GT1 Race car settings as it is totally a different machine in its own right and I have tried Duck's settings but it has too much oversteer in the corners especially at high speed braking and I dislike it.

Anyway if any of you lot can help that would be great, settings would be great but advice would be fine.

I know that it's an endless mantra, mate, but, in the end, noone else but yourself can set your car up for you.

It's an odd situation where your main complaint is that you have oversteer into corners unless you fit the roll-cage in which you get understeer. That's a fairly radical transformation for an MR - the worst I've ever seen with the roll-cage is a car go from slight understeer to bad understeer (and that was a 4WD).

What tyres are you thinking of running and what track is your primary target (with a ball-park lap time)?

That question asked, tho', I can't steel myself to fork out a million credits for the car (plus the cash for the extra parts) today, especially to spoil it for any A-Speccing duties by weight reductions.

However, if you'd like to post up some setting suites that you've tried I'd be glad to suggest any changes that I think may help (I know, I know, you said you didn't want advice :D). Of course, it may be that what you've tried already is fine - that's when you have to consider changing driving style rather than spannering the car.
 
Well the Nissan R390 GT1 Road Car can get more downforce than a Group C car in GT4, with an added wing. That can already help you big time. I don't know about suspension settings, as you may want to check my "Currently on your first time through GT4?" Thread for learning how to experiment with set up's.
 
With regards to the roll cage, it increases understeer on some but not all cars. It may or may not increase understeer on the R390, I don't know. You could give it a try but make sure you have auotsave set to "restricted" and don't save the game until you've tested it. If you don't like the handling with it, simply reset the game to undo the change.

Might want to raise the car a bit, too, especially on top speed runs. If you're like me, you've probably got it slammed to the ground, whech doesn't work.
 
The thing with the R390 is this: In effect, the roadcar was concieved solely for the purpose of GT1 racing, thus pretty much making it a roadlegal racecar. The GT1 rules from ´98 stated that the racecars had to be based on a roadlegal car, but not how many roadcars you had to make. That is why only 9 (IIRC) R390 roadcars was made, and AFAIK only 1 Toyota GT-One roadcar! McLaren made 3 roadlegal GTR models, and I think Porsche did the same with the 911 GT1.
Now, as the roadcars are very little tweaked to be a racecar (IRL I think they pretty much just slapped a turbo, a rollcage, a wing and stripped some interior from the R390), tweaking it with these features pretty much makes it pointless to NOT use the racecar instead!
If I were to call any shots in this case, I´d keep the roadcar car stock and simply go for the racecar instead.
