I have decided this is the best Skyline in the game. The R34 just feels like its ski-ing even with slicks and the Race GTR's are a little too accomplshed to feel realistic.
But the 280 MR has turned out to be amazing and heres why...

It is the lightest post 1989 Skyline in the game.
It's racing kit in red looks just like the Jecs.
In standard white with no mods its still a fun drive and it is the best looking skyline in the game with it's pure wedding car look.
The handling... if you can spin this car then you are an imbecile. it has pinsharp handling and you never feel out of control like I often do in a GTR. It isn't the fastest GTR but it is more consistently reliable and predictable. I'd urge anyone who hasn't tried one to do so.

Also in the game info section it says its rear wheel drive... is it RD in real life, because in the game it is 4WD?

Welcome to GTP 👍

As unofficial skyline disliker, i must say this. It may be the best skyline, but it is a skyline nonetheless ;) it will still get roasted by other cars of similar hp.

Different strokes for different folks i guess.

I always the found the 280MR to be competent, but quite heavy in the understeer department. Only 5 gears as well.

But it's nice to have something rare and different in the garage.

Thats funny:lol: You hate gt2 because of the rather innocuous reason of questionable skylines, I hate posters like you who make stupid, dumbass comments about they know nothing about.

003 - hey thats what makes GT2 👍. Some people can make cars work other cannot :) I'll give some time in the tuning shop....

Whats really weird is that the blue/grey racing kit isn't as fast as the red one! ? Why I do not know. Identical setups and yet the handling on my blue one is understeer city.
But the red one may not be tail happy, but man does it shift on soft tyres. I won the Pacific leagues and and European easily with this car, although I always tried to keep the power at 551hp where allowed.

i agree, the 280 MR is an awesome skyline ESPECIALLY for handling.. however, i love my GT-R R34 V-SPEC with the blue advant racing mod... i don't ever feel out of control in it and i'm confident i could spank the 280 MR in it even on a course like seattle short or grindenwald... however like mike said earlier: different strokes for different folks

besides... none of the skylines can touch my Mazdaspeed RX-7 GT-C ;)

My experience is that the GT-C gets caned by the A-Spec

depends on which a-spec you're talking about.. i own pretty much all the rx-7's.. and the fastest one i have (that didn't get bought with a Racing Modification already on it) was my Mazdaspeed RX-7 GT-C... because it is an a-spec with a GT-Competition body kit.... i won it on a race, don't remember which one.. but it's fully hooked up, and dominates all my other RX-7's (except for the special ones)

GT-C doesnt accept a race kit, A-Spec does, so in my garage I sold the GT-C (after much tuning) cos it just wasnt as fast as a fully tuned A-Spec.

*shrug*

a spec rx7 = sweet all round

gt-c = nice looks, but not as good

im more of a silvia fanatic, my silvia k 2200c...:cough: first car i got to drift on this game

sh**s hard...at first i kept seeing only power slides and spin outs...then finally a nice drift...man does it take time tweaking and practicing

as for skylines...fun, but not nearly the best fourwheelers...

lancers and wrxs give better control, and if you happen to mess with their gears properly they can smoke a skyline easily...get around those corners at well over a 100...while with a skyline on a corner more than 70 and you feel like the car is ready to tip over

Mike in the under 600hp class nothing beats the R30 Race car you can win. I've cut faster lap times than I can with cars with even more hp to a certain point. I've won the GT world championship with that car every time I've raced it.

The TVR Cerbera rocks. It is IMO the best all around car in the game beside the cheat Escudo.

No doubt, the R30 Race Car is one sweet piece of machine. As for best under 600hp, the Dodge Concept is quicker in my experience - but not by much.
