Hi there, here is my BNR32. It is an '89 so it's one of the first made. I have owned it for about... well comeing up 6 months. I have always wanted a GT-R and the R32 has always been my favourite shape. When i stumbled across this one i had to jump at it. Sooo after convincing the Mrs. how much i wanted it and how happy I would be to finally own a dream car, I bought it.

I was quite lucky to get it at the price I did, as the previous owner has spent A LOT of money on the engine. Although some of the things he purchased he had taken off before sale(big single turbo, TIEN suspension), i still got a great deal.

The engine is light years from standard. It has:

A balenced R34 N1 crank shaft.
Race bearings.
Race Conrods.
Oversized Pistons.
The block has been honed and cleaned up before having everything refitted.

The head has a whole host of HKS bits.
HKS valves.
HKS Valve guides.
HKS Valve Springs.
Port polish etc.
The only thing it really needs is a set of 272 cams and some cam gears to be finished but everything is bulletproof!!

On the Turbo side it has R33 GT-R Vspec turbos.
Turbos back HKS 3" mandrel bent exhaust, high-flow silencer, HKS 5" Cannon.
HKS air filters.

Paint is a Toyota chip, Ice blue metallic.

The computer is a modded Mines unit. Its only allows 16psi of boost. It has things like raised rev limit and fuel maps etc. The car redlines around 8800rpm.

Suspension: R33 Vspec on all corners. I have some lowering springs coming soon so when i get around to putting them in i will definitely get some pics up with the new ride height!
Wheels: 18"x10" Volk Racing with a big offset.
Tyres: 275/45/R18 Nakang RSII

Boost is 16psi and it makes around 300kw(400hp) at the wheels. As it stands, the car can put out plenty more horsepower but the Mines ECU is running at its limit :( So the next thing i am going to get is either a APEXi Power FC or an HKS D-Jetro to really get it putting down some good figures.

There is probably a whole heap of things i have for gotten so if I remember i will edit this post etc.

Anyway, I'm sure no-one really read any of that, so here are some photos!

Yeah, so I hope you guys like it. When I do more to it I will update etc!!

Lovely car!

yup get rid of the mine's ecu! in holland its the first thing you should replace. Mine's ecu is mapped @ around 100 octane fuel, while in holland you can only tank 98 max. dunno how much you can get at the pump in your country but keep that in mind!

Also keep the R33 turbo's @ max 16 Psi, they wont last long with more..My stock turbo's were set @ 1.2 bar when i bought my R33 GTR V-spec. when i installed a new ecu and lowered the boost it was already too late:)
get some Garrett 2860-5 bb turbo's instead if you want to keep it twin turbo.

they are about direct fit, can handle MUCH more boost with just a bit slower spool up then stock. i've seen plenty of GTR's hit 620+ hp with these turbo's on built engines. wich is more then enough for a street car, you will destroy any car with it that even dares to challenge you:) oh and upgrade the brakes if you do!

The rims are not really my cup of tea in terms of look, but i do know that these are very lightweight!

Sweet car, Enjoy it! :D im sure you will!

Awesome car! Loving the paint, wheels, and overall look. Without the spoiler makes it look pretty clean. Love it! :D

Thanks guys, I'm glad you like it. I love driving this thing, when its on boost that ****s like a drug! 400hp on the street in a car that is fairly light is pretty fun, especially in RWD! In third gear it will step out with little effort, even with the fat tyres.

As for the ECU, it has been re-tuned for 98 octane fuel and runs nice and rich so its not doing any harm at the moment. When i have a spare $1200 bucks i will get a new ECU and get it tuned on the dyno properly to see what it can do! But that's money I don't have right this minute, especially with kid number two on the way!

When i get a chance, I will take it for a little photo shoot somewhere cool and get some better shots :)

Thanks for checking out my car!

Clean BNR32. Definitely screaming for a D-Jetro conversion and AFM delete. 👍

Careful when you order those cams. Over a certain amount of lift (I think it was 12mm) you need to clearance the head to clear the cam lobes. Some aftermarket cams (I think it was 280's+ big Tomei ProCam's and Kelford for example) are also -1mm under size base circle, so you'd be changing lifters and shims to boot. Can't remember if any of the 272's are -1mm under base circle.

Got a chance to take some more photos, here are a few!

For fathers day I was given a WRX Experience where i got to drive a WRX Rally car, here are some shots of that. I have a video of the incar footage and can upload it to youtube if you guys want to see it. Anyway, pictures...

Thanks for taking the time to look :)

400 AWHP??? Yikes! Love the baby blue with all that goodness under the hood. :D

Thanks for sharing!

Why not show the video. :P Also how easy is it to work on in that engine bay? Like what if you needed to change your alternator?

Here is aforementioned video...

It was a super sunny day so its a bit hard to see whats happening outside the car but you get the general idea.

Its not too bad, but I am pretty handy with a spanner. The motor is wedged in with a great big shoe horn at the factory I think though!!

Dear god the paint on that GT-R is just gorgeous! The silver looks deep and you get just the tiniest taste of blue.

I was having a dig around and here are a couple of pics of some of my old Nissans. I cannot find any pictures of my old R32 GTS-t or my U14 Bluebird but these were the better ones anyway!
Enjoy
1990 300ZX, My first sports car!

My 1997 Stagea RS Four, had some good power mods. Went really well.

And a 1999 Skyline GT. Was basically stock motor-wise but it had an ear popping stereo!

Yeah, another great big shoe horn was needed! It was funny, just trying to do simple things in that car weren't exactly simple! Still, nothing ever went wrong with it so he only time the hood was open was to change the oil or check levels etc. That car was ridiculously reliable. Not a day went by that I wasn't banging it off the red-line and it never complained. The only thing that ever went wrong was the cam position sensor, which i replaced with a second hand one from a turbo model, and that was like $50 or something from memory. Oh, and wayyyy too many rear tyres lol

This car's color is awesome. I don't really like the wheels, even if they're the real deal. And your Stagea was awesome too.

Allgood, they were on it when I got it. And yes they are real volk racing wheels. I should put the ones from my Commodore on it and take a couple of pics just for a little contrast. Maybe when I have a spare hour..... Ha.

You are very lucky to own a car like that. We don't get that many cars here in Idaho.

I do see this sometimes:

Yeah so, the other day I was heading to work in the GT-R and I was nearly there. Got off the highway at my exit and pulled up at a set of lights and the car clunked a little. So i pulled away when I had a green and at the next intersection the car clucked again, only this time worse... I then had to cross two lanes of afternoon traffic and this came the worst grinding and clunking noises I have ever heard emitted from a vehicle. Long story short, My front diff decided to not only fail, but absolutely destroy itself.

So as my luck has been in the last six weeks or so, I cannot afford to get this fixed right now as I have had some really unfortunate events happen like a death in the family (Gran in-law) a minor car crash in my Commodore and some other dumb s:censored: so yay! Stuck with a Skyline boat anchor at the moment!

Damn unlucky

Yeah it happens. On a lighter note, my neighbor just sold his evo 8 and bought an R33 GT-R LM which is pretty cool! One of only a few in aussie.

Here is the neighbours R33! He only picked it up yesterday and took me for a spin, and even let me drive it. Its pretty standard except for an HKS exhaust and a filter set up. Very cool on the Nismo wheels!

Awh man, super sorry to hear about the diff as well as the other things.
But hey, you have the car you wanted albeit a little broken; it's still better than not having it at all.

I've always liked the R32 much better than all the other Skylines. 👍
I'll trade you my Dodge Daytona!

I see it's been less than a month since your diff went boom, any news on it lately?

Oh, and I feel like a stupid American for asking this but is your odometer in kilometers? If so, then boy that's pretty low for its age!
