No more crowd funding possible?

Sorry guys if I am using the wrong forum but I've just seen yesterday that pCars was crowdfunded and pCars2 will be too.
Sadly on the website was a text "at the time no funding" or so! Kinda confused because... did they already reach their goal already and finished the game? Every dollar or euro makes it better right? I mean more is good for them? :D

Hopefully you can help me out because I'd love to also test it and tell them all bugs and especially ideas I have. They are a lot and good and I am also really good in finding bugs and glitches. Further... I'd like to be real game tester but that's another story to tell :D

Thanks for your time mate!

Best regards
Jolly D. Roger

As above, SMS didn't need the crowdfunding money to create the game this time around but still found it very beneficial to have people on-board to help shape the game. The crowdfunding aspect wouldn't have been able to return profits, in the way WMD1 did, due to financial regulations here in the UK - although it is frustrating, having put money in and knowing SMS weren't out to rip us off, you can't blame the regulators for wanting to try and protect people.

The doors for getting access to WMD2 were only open for a few months, mostly because there were a limited number of Steam keys available but also to try and focus the numbers, rather than the free-for-all aspect of the WMD1.

Will the doors open for WMD3? Who knows? I hope so because, WMD1 and WMD2 have been part of my daily routine (aside from my real work) for over 5½ years now. It has become something of an addiction ;)

I think I have had that same addition without being on either WMD1/2.

Exactly. Kind of why I didn't sign up for wmd for pCARS 2 - it was a bit too addicting.

Some things are beneficial. This addiction on being part of the project allowed be to know awesome people and I even learned a bit not just about being part of it but from the people that makes the community.

If only all addictions were like this...

Yeah, the community was (is) for the most part great. Kind of like gtplanet but with just pCARS focus only.

True. Addiction is the word. The difference to a normal forum is, we moved something. Some of the ideas and enhancements comes from us. And it's fantastic to see this baby growing.
Cheers WMD

This is the thing for me - to see something happening you suggested or were part of the discussion about, or even something as simple as a screenshot you made being used, is incredibly satisfying. Plus, watching a game come together and grow is a fascinating experience. Assuming there is a WMD3 I'll be signing up on day 1.

Oh - and it is a brilliant community to be part of. My only regret is that I had fallen out of sim racing when WMD1 happened and missed out the first time round.

GTsimms - It won't happen, in terms of pure 'crowdfunding'. At best, we'll likely see a repeat of the pCARS2 method, whereby we effectively pay to take part in development. That the game and other stuff are thrown in for free at the end, well, that's the icing on the cake :) . pCARS1 was unique and a project I doubt we'll see the likes of again for quite some time. Back then, the developers needed our money to build the game. Thanks in no small part to more than 2M people around the world, that wasn't necessary for pCARS2 :). I very much doubt there will be a need for our cash for pCARS3 either :)

World of Mass Development For Project CARS 2. As this are partly other people as in original WMD for pCARS 1, we call them WMD2. So people who will be in for pCARS3 will be called WMD3 . Maybe:lol:
Got it?

i cannot imagine a pcars3 without WMD again. It's a strong "weapon" and I think our help is very welcomed and only beneficial.. for both sides.. a win-win situation. Already have my money ready for WMD3 :)
