Wow. Best ending ever from my point of view. Not for the guy who came 2nd.
Started 3rd..got in lead soon by aggressive inside line holding. Dived in there before I took anyone's line.
Lap 2 I had fastest lap (also a first for me) and took the lead.
Lap 3 in the chicane where i gained the most time every lap I brake at my usual spot maybe took guy behind by surprise who shunted me hard, and he went off.
I felt cool I'd stayed on but WHAT?!? I get a TEN second penalty?!
By now staying in front is easy for once as I'm lapping sweetly but I can NOT lose that 10 seconds...down to 9 seconds half way through last lap, and of course my Sunday
driving is letting 2nd catch me up.
At this point I will say I thought it was same guy who shunted me earlier (didn't see him go off till replay) so I thought I'm not letting this ****** past.

Had to lose 8 seconds on last chicane and final corner. Drove at like 40 mph blocking dude behind in his Viper. Anytime he looked like darting past I got in his way.
Final straight he could take it no longer (I STILL had 4 seconds to lose on the straight!) and tried to pass me on side of the pit lane.
I knew I had to stop him but I wasn't going to drive into him. So I callously drove hard and straight right up to edge of pit lane.
He smashed into it and spun out.
I was hundreds of yards ahead still 3 seconds to lose, idled over the finish line didn't want a penalty on the finish times.
My SR still S but a red this time. (wish you could see that penalty slow down in replay).

Anyways the replay is online, worth it to see how you can get a 10 second penalty by being in FRONT and ON the track, and to watch me doom this poor guy to a pit crash right before the finish,

Feel free to judge me, felt bad after it WASN'T the shunter guy who I let crash in pits. Shunter guy actually chatted after said good win. Think it may have been accident after seeing replay.

sloppysmusic is the PSN name.
replay is called Daily Race pit block win.

This is the SR system we have. If this is how the game is meant to be played than the system is perfect. If this is not how the game is meant to be played than it’s flawed. Pretty simple.

Well there you go, you’re S but not fast enough to win and maintain an S.

If you like winning you’ll be SR D in no time driving like that since you got lucky the No 2 also wasn’t a good racer this time.

Congrats, you won. Your lucky the guy behind you didn't do a pit manuever on you and spin you out. If you race dirty, you give the other guy permission to do the same. It's basically the dishonor system.

I’m gonna say two things.
1) somewhere on this board will be the guy in the viper whining about how you wrecked and blocked him.
2) in a few months this online wasteland will subside. The actual children will grow bored and move on to the next FPS game. The man-sized children will give up and stop playing, realizing they will never taste glory by awful troll tactics.

Be patient gents, there is glory AFTER the war!

Weaving as a means to block others behind you is against racing rules; you're only allowed to make 1 change to your driving line. I'm not sure if that's what the OP did.

When I get a penalty, I drive very slowly before a hairpin apex. I think those are the easiest areas to build off a penalty without screwing up ones lap time too much.

I agree I've been 100% respectful in 40 races and had my butt shunted in every one. In this one I knew I was actually the fastest for the first time and ONLY did that weaving at the end because:
1) I had a dang 10 second penalty when #2 shunted me and
2) I thought the guy behind me at the end was that #2.

This behavior wont be my modus operandi for the future, but I will no longer plan to race 4 clean laps and expect to win just because my lap times on an empty track would be faster than the others.
Bold AND respectful of skill is the plan. Shunters can eat my dust...
