No more speed gained despite continuous drafting - Fix?

I have modified a Fairlady Z 300ZX (Z31) for high speed runs on SSR10, it does fantastically well and is able to catch up with other more powerful cars too. It achieves more than 410kmh when broken in, but if I attempt to overtake a powerful opponent while drafting, I could not go past the average of 463kmh. The car does not automatically slow down when over-revving in the final gear, but it stops going faster, and I could not overtake an opponent and must trail the car in front of me until someone in front screws up.

Does this mean that the Z31 could not go any more faster? Or is there a fix to this?
It's HP count is around 680hp if I recall correctly. I'm using a High RPM turbo for my runs.

It sounds like you're either hitting the rev limit (fix - lower gear ratio in the final gear) or your powerband falls off at the RPM corresponding to your max speed in draft (same fix).

Though to be honest I didn't completely understand the problem as it was described.

To simplify, I could not go any faster while in draft.
Maybe it is a powerband issue, it doesn't over-rev despite being close to it's maximum, but it doesn't go any faster.

maybe they fixed it where you can't draft endlessly and gain speed. ie, you have reached max speed given the car's HP vs the drag your car is fighting to keep accelerating. this isn't outer space and even in the draft you are still fighting opposing forces (drag). if so, that's just called being more realistic.

best you can do is make sure your top gear is set so that you are at the RPMs where MAX HP occurs when you stop accelerating.

OK, so it may or may not be powerband/gearing related. esoxhntr is correct in that even with draft you will eventually stop accelerating

but this should be fairly gradual (like reaching top speed outside of the draft). If the acceleration falls off sharply, then play with your gear ratios. If your acceleration just drops slowly, the car is probably not going to go any faster with more power or a less draggy body.

Sounds to me like you just need to make your top gear taller, either 5th or 6th, not sure what it is on that car. But yeah, your problem is that your car just isn't as fast as the others in a straight line because you hit your top speed. Set up your transmission for a higher speed.
