No Shift 3 but what Next from black box, Prostreet 2/Underground 3?

Edited I liked, Shift but Shift 2 went in the Wrong direction:tdown:. And Slighty Mad Studios has left with Criteration now the main company behind N4S development but still on the yearly rotation. Black box is next so what can they do to get people back after there, Marmite game The Run. is a Next prostreet round the corner (i did like it) or anew Underground 3 which everyone seems to ask for. or a new take on the shift series, i created the name Need for Speed: Full Throttle but is it to literal? I want the racing back (i know its not the need for speed way) but i could gun for GRID 2 next year!

Wot Are your thoughts?

It is quite certain there won't be a Shift3, at least not made by SMS.
They had quite a bitter experience with EA so I doubt they will ever collaborate again.

What SMS has on the table right now is pCARS and that seems to be the direction they want to follow - a proper SIM title, cross-platform and accessible to casual people and veteran sim-racers alike.
As it holds quite a few design similarities with the Shift series, perhaps one may call it 'Shift 3', although it's really not.

The closest thing to another Shift game from EA is actually a mobile (iOS/Android) game called Real Racing 3. Wondering if they will move this to PC/consoles as well.

Real Racing 2 is on Mac (can't get it on Windows as far as I know) so chances are Real Racing 3 will also appear.

To be honest, I doubt there will be many more Shift or Pro-Street style games, and as far as I know Criterion have totally taken the NFS franchise over. Which I'm very happy about, since I'm a pretty big fan of Criterion as a studio, having loved the Burnout series and I'm looking forward to MW2012, if it's anything like Burnout Paradise or Hot Pursuit, then it should be pretty good IMO.

They've taken over but EA still want split rotation so EAs black box still there but Criteration supervise every game and release want they feel is right. i liked burnout but N4S is N4S and is a longer running series for a reason

High Stakes with HD remodeled cars and tracks. Very yummy.

Plonk in interiors like Shift, more performance cars of 1999 like the Mustang Cobra, S1 Exige, E36 M3, series 8 RX7, the Supra Turbo and others along with a little more tracks and voila.

Which was Black Box... BB made every single NFS game on the PS2 & up to Undercover on next gen consoles with TR being a good sign for future games. TR had an excellent physics engine.

Yea i agree. Just my opinion, but i think Criterion should stay out of Need for Speed's business, any NFS game by them has been nothing but a disappointment to me.

The game's content was meh. Tracks were to simple aside from 1 or 2 tracks. Put that engine in a game with better tracks then WIN

If they make an underground 3, they better not put cops in it. That was my favorite part about the free roam, you didn't have to worry about getting busted. If it had the unlimited customizations and the huge free roam map, that'd be great. Underground 2 is my favorite need for speed game ever, so if they make a 3, I'd hope they stay true to the underground name.

Black Box should get on refining NFS World. The game is good but it could be better.

I still don't understand why there isn't anything like punkbuster or some kind of security. (as least as far as i'm aware of)

I think so, i saw a different company name on NFS world instead of black box but i'm sure BB is still overseeing NFSW at least.

Amen p3bucky!:tup: Glad to see im not the only one who feels the same way! Underground 2 was the first NFS game i ever played and it is and always has been, my favorite NFS game.👍 I agree with the cops part, i hate cops, thats one reason why i didn't like the original Need for Speed Most Wanted, cops were too freaking agressive and way too sensitive! If they were to add cops that would be taking the Underground out of Need for Speed Underground 3. If they do make Underground 3, it better be like the previous versions. I mean bring lucas game and Black Box back and throw Criterion out of this.
