I have a big problem. Two weeks ago I bought a brandnew PS3 120GB Slim. I have it connected with HDMI on my 32" Samsung HDTV. The sound goes through a optical cable to my Logitech Z-5500. In every game and demo i played, the sound works just fine.

But when I want to play the GT5 Time Trial, I have no sound! I re-downloaded en re-installed it a couple of times but with no luck.

Anyone got a idea/solution for this problem?

These are my soundsettings:

There is no sound, it's just a physics demo! ;)

Have you tried the Time Trial demo with sound directly out of your TV speakers via HDMI? Just something to check to see if it's a problem with the download and not your hardware. Have you also checked the audio settings in the demo? Maybe they are all set to minimum for some reason...would be odd if they were. I also take it that the demo is from your own region?

I also tested it with sound via HDMI but that also didn't work properly.
I checked the settings in the game itself and everything is how it should be..

/edit: I will double check it when i'm at home.. i'm at work now.

I suspect your amp doesn't support DTS, just choose manual unselect everything and keep adding down the list and then testing until it goes silent again.

My amp does support DTS because i watch MKV's with DTS all the time and Uncharted 2 is also DTS and that works perfectly.

Dolby Digital
DTS en DTS 96/24
PCM (niet-gecomprimeerde stereo): 44,1 kHz/16 bits t/m 96 kHz/24 bits

And now it IS working via HDMI. OMG..
Hope it works also through optical now..

/edit: Nope, not working. I have the Dolby Digital logo in my Logitech Z-5500 screen..but no sound. I have enabled Dolby 5.1 and DTS via Optical. Normally, the game selects automatically the correct format. I hope the final version of GT5 wil work via optical! I don't want to race in stereo.. :(

/edit2: Fixed! I deselected Dolby 5.1 in the PS3 settings so it's forced to pick the DTS stream and now it works! Very strange that GT5 TT didn't automatically select the correct audiosetting..

That's pretty interesting, I know there are two different formats for Dolby 5.1, one that allows people like game developers to mix on the fly, and one for premixed material like DVD's etc, maybe GT5 TT is doing something funny... odd.
