OK, I've been doing the Special Events to max out 200 A-spec using the DODGE Ram. I've been using NA3 tuning, I also bough the Supercharger.

1. But why If I equip the supercharger the NA tuning goes back to default, can't NA tuning be used in conjunction with the Supercharger?

2. Also, it seems weird because when driving the truck suddenly it loses power and if i tap the analog stick it could accelerate again ?

3. What's the easiest/fastest way to make a new car have 'old oil', I've heard making it redline and letting Bob do it's thing on Test Course.

3:
Wearing out your ride
It pays to run several (long) races with worn out cars. As you race you lose horsepower. Better to start a race with a car that wont do that anymore. Take hp loss out of the equation.
List of cars and how to wear out the car.
from this post.

1. No, supercharger can't be used in combination with natural-aspirated tuning.

2. Not sure what you mean by the 2nd question.

3. PF already got this one.

For question number two check your controller. I had my controller do something similar when it wore out.

Thanks for the replies!
92,397 points baby! yeah

My PS2 is less than 2 years old (slim with integrated power supply) it works correctly with other cars. Now it's missing only Grand Canyon, I've been unable to win it using the RAM though.

You can win Gran Canyon with the Ram, i did, i think my ram is at 600+ hp
also have a new oil, u won't loose a-spec points, refresh chassis if needed,
make sure your transmission and suspension are tuned to your preferances.

I'm at 92.xxx A-Spec points too! i think i'll make it to 100.000 before november third. Good luck in your hunting!

The Ram doesn't handle well on Grand Canyon, against which oponent you raced with? I hate ralyying more with a truck :P

can you provide your settings on the truck?

*snip*The Ram doesn't handle well on Grand Canyon....

Well......its a truck!

The Ram drives a lot better than should be expected. Its the vehicle of choice if you want 200 points in the HARD Grand Canyon race. Once you have the lead, the AI has little chance of getting back past your RAM's over-sized posterior.

If you are after fewer than 200 points, quite a number of rally cars can win Grand Canyon HARD with some turbo upgrades.

Try any of the following:

Mitsubishi Evolution Super Rally Car
Lancia Delta S4
Mitsubishi CZ-3 Tarmac Rally Car
Subaru Impreza Rally Car '01 or '03
Subaru Impreza WRX Spec C '04

Good luck!

Indeed, GTsail, I agree (as always). And would emphasise the point about getting in front early. The main AI strategy is a sly bump into a time penalty, and as I pointed out in another thread, and you allude to here, the main counter-strategy is to get in front first.

I don't remember my settings, they were close to default, i guess i lowered it, i set the tranny to use all gears. There is a dirty tip with rallying: if u oversteer while taking a corner and u hit the wall only with the back of the car, u don't get the 5 sec penalty, so brake early, wallride with the back of the truck. I don't remember having to block, Ram was much faster. I don't remember the opponent(s) but i think they have about the same times. Use nitro to get first place before the section along the cliff. I remember i used the roof camera to see in front of me and have an idea where the car is (so i would not hit any walls with the front bumper)

(maybe set the suspension to camber (-) 2.5 front, (-) 1.2 rear), AWD control at 50, nitrous at 50 (max) I don't know if ram takes a wing but i think u will still be at 200 points after that. Oh. I almost forgot, when exiting corners press the gas pedal/button at half way, cause it's 600+ horses slide a lot.

P.S. I don't feel proud i "cheated" so much in the special events, but i never liked rallying anyway.

I used one of the Scoobie-doo rally cars. I believe its an 04. Also, the Ram has a glitch that makes it where no matter what it gets 200 a-spec points. If you like I have a tuning for a ram that does 7'29.xxx on the Ring
