Hi,

Instead of making a new thread for every question I'm going to have, I'm going to group them here.

1.
Is there a way to change the country flag for online racing?
Answer from @alexnegao: The flag is from the account that you are using. I.e. I´m from Brazil, so I have a brazilian flag. But if I use a Japanese account I´ll have a japanese flag.

2. Where can I edit the music playlist from GT Sport?
No answer yet ...

Hey guys I'm new to GT. I played a little of GT 5 and 6 on ps3, but moved on to ps4 and rented sport. I wanted a more challenging and realistic racing game than like NFS so I'm trying this. But when it comes to understanding the tech talk and tuning stuff. I'm lost. If someone wants help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Generic answer.....practice. :) Drive, rinse, repeat. The more you do the tests and challenges the more you will pick up on as far as what they are trying to teach you. Learn what happens when you brake earlier or later than they suggest or how your speed is affected by the line you take around a corner (early apex vs late apex, etc). Don't worry about the tuning for now, that's a whole other can of worms. Develop your technique first; once you figure that out you can learn how to change a car to work with you.

More specific answer, if you can still get to GT5/6, check out the WRS here at GTP. Some of the best drivers you'll ever see compete in it and every week there are shared replays. Download a few and watch them to pick up pointers on how/where/when to brake/accel/steer/be awesome. I learned a lot just from watching others in the WRS. The weekly threads are also full of super helpful tips for each car/track combo which you cna use to help you learn the fast ways around.

Thanks I'll try them out. So WRS is a racing league or something?

Also I found what you were talking about. Is there a person or name in the archives I can look up to watch that's fit for a noon like me. Also I going to buy GT 1 all the way up from Ps1 to ps4 so I can get truly get the feel and appreciation of the progress for the game series. :P

Once you get into 1 and 2 we wont see you for months. They are THAT deep!

Learn to drive slow!!! All my lap times improve when I slow down into corners and accelerate out~

What he said. Stick with one car, front or all wheel drive if possible to start with, find your favorite track and just drive around it chilling out. Dont make any changes to the car so it's just learning how it feels. it's a cliche but after a time you will fee; 'at one' with your vehicle and muscle memory will do most of the driving!
Yeh slow is good. Walls and dirt/grass are bad. Keep going round and round staying on the track, not pushing it and your times will gradually get faster without you even knowing it. The ghost car is a great confidence booster when its always behind you!

Also should start with no assists and manual gears or work my way up?
The best way to truly understand how a car behaves is to have the assists off. Howerver, we all start somewhere and depending you your skill level that may be a pretty abrupt change in difficulty. Some cars will be much more difficult than others, but playing regularly is the best thing you can do to improve.

I used assists until partway through GT5 when I made the decision to "get good". It was the best decision I've made in GT, and led to my purchase of a wheel for GT6. I still use ABS at 1/default, but that's pretty common.

When I first started playing racing sims (in general), I had the racing assists set to ON at its default setting. Race a lot, try different cars and different tracks to see how each car reacts. I eventually started using manual gears and eventually toned down Traction Control. I still have Stability Management turned on, though.

In the end, race around a lot with different cars with the settings that you're comfortable with. Once you have a hang of it, slowly start to adjust the driving assists. Slowly challenge yourself to drive with less and less driving assists.

Also use circuit experience in the campaign mode and watch the videos to help learn the tracks because the first thing you'll do when playing the game is to rely on the cones to know when to slow or turn which is a bad move, in an actual race cars will knock over the cones which you rely on leaving you lost but the actual videos in circuit experience will walk you through each turning and give proper visual cues like marshall posts, distance markers, changes in kerbs, wall markings which are in the places where cones are placed, this shows you how to properly navigate around a course.

Yes, kind of... :) It's the Weekly Race Series here at GTP. Each week the WRS admins pick a different car/track combo with various restrictions and the group then goes time trialing. During the week you will see people running the trial post sector splits keeping their final time hidden. At the end of the week you get ranked based on your final time, handicap, division, etc. The WRS Leaderboard has all the archives of splits and replays and such. NOt sure how it/if it will exist in GTS but I'm sure we'll find out.

As far as who to watch, anyone in Division 1 is stupid fast. Many of the guys in D1Gold are the ones you see on the top 10 fastest lists in GTS all the time...the "aliens". You could watch them all day and still not understand how they are so fast. What might be good would be to try one of the combos with the right track/car/tires/etc. and see what kind of time you can turn. Then find someone on the leaderboard who is a little faster and see how they are driving. You'll find there's a lot of things that can differ from basics like throttle and brake application to things like how and when they shift and transfer weight.

That said, you don't have to mirror anyone's driving. Find an opportunity in your driving and adopt what works for you. As an example, I know that rotating the car into the corner the way some guys do is not a way that I feel comfortable driving but adjusting lines and braking points is much easier. I've learned how to trail brake and that some times you run wide because you're too fast and sometimes you're not fast enough. :scared: There's a fine line to it all and you'll find it all the more you drive.

Good luck!

Hey.
Just bought the game so I have some questions.
I saw that you can upgrade your car with the mileage coins.. the power and weight thing.
Does it lower the weight and raises the power from the manufacturer specs? Does it stay upgraded in the online races so people with a car not fully upgraded are in a disadvantage?

P.s. How do I turn off the cones in the brake zones?

It's just a generic slider for power and weight. You can use whatever upgrades online you want that fit within the individual lobby restrictions.

If there is a BoP then racing an "upgraded" version gives zero advantage.
PS:you can but I dont remember where is the option.

Press Option button while racing, there’s a section where assists are in. Racing line options or something.

Hey. Just got my thursmaster t150
Very nice no complaint so far
Just a question. I found where I can change the ffb but I can't find where to chage the amount of rotation degrees so I could lower it. I find it very hard to take a hairpin and I really need to turn the wheel more than what I would like.
Is there an option for that outside the game?
