So the court her in Minnesota ruled Al Franken as the winner, this after he was already declared the winner in the first re-count. Now Norm Coleman is taking this to the MN supreme court so he can make it a longer time with us only having 1 senator. Some people just don't know when to stop, basically everyone I have talked to is basically fed up with him. I know most don't care but I just had to get this off my chest.

I'm surprised how long this has gone on. This is worse than the 2000 Florida recounts! Coleman is like a crying kid who didn't get the toy he wanted for his birthday.

Generally speaking, he still has legal ground to debate a lot of this stuff, but realistically there is a point at which only having one Senator becomes a problem for the state of Minnesota. With the recount and the lower court supporting Al Franken as the winner, I'm finding it difficult to see that Senator Coleman would have any success in the higher state court. Personal feelings aside, it doesn't make things look all that good for Coleman. Truthfully, I'd say that this puts the Governor in a tight spot as well, he being a Republican, but also realizing that he should have full representation in the Senate.

Let it ride out, he'll probably lose.

It's not like there is any choice but to let it ride out. It's like we are in game 7 of the world series and one of the teams already clinched the series, making the game completely pointless. Oh well, I guess there is no better way to completely kill you political career than making everyone in your state angry at you.

Edit: Also just because he can take this further doesn't mean he should. Just like the saying goes, "just because you can doesn't mean you should".

I completely agree that just because he can doesn't mean he should, but so long as there is a political will, and a judicial means by which to challenge the election results... I see no reason why Coleman wouldn't. I think what this needs to be separated on is personal gain and actual political realism. While on the one hand, Coleman and the GOP don't want to lose another seat, it really just ends up making them look silly. Truthfully, I think that it ends up hurting the Governor in the process as well. Its this kind of self-destructive behavior on behalf of the Republicans thats driving me insane, and furthermore, completely wiping away any legitimate chance at a win in 2010 for the party.

Whenever I think of Al Franken, I have a hard time not thinking of this:

Funny that I didn't really get those sketches until I was much, much older.

Hell, I'd be protesting having that idiot Franken as my senator, too.

LOL --Pray for Norm --hope he wins --if not ..

AL FRANKEN SENATOR ???

LOL

What were you thinking ???

Jesse Ventura is arguably smarter than Al Franken, and has a demonstrated ability to think for himself, much like The Governator. Al Franken, on the other hand, is a card-carrying member of the lockstep Left.

...but realistically there is a point at which only having one Senator becomes a problem for the state of Minnesota.

Really?

If con is the opposite of pro, then what's the opposite of progress?

If the alternative is one senator or Al Franken...

Maybe they are better off with one one Senator.

Al Franken ??

Senator ?

Not really funny --weird --but not funny .
