I am extending an open invite to anyone who is interested in some tight clean racing this Thursday at 9pm Eastern time. We will be running 4.00 max rated cars in 2 races: 20 laps at Ebisu Circuit West, and 20 laps at Willow springs horse thief mile. Both are tight tracks where it is difficult to pass, which should make for some tight, fun racing.

The only requirements for participation are:

* Commitment to run as clean as possible. Malicious punters and rammers will not be invited back!
* Must support in-game voice chat.
* Must accept friends list request of room host (should be me unless we end up with more than 1 room)
* Be online, in the game and ready to accept invitation no less than 5 minutes before 9 pm.

Format of the racing will be as follows:

3 lap warm-up at Ebisu Circuit West
1 parade lap to establish grid order
20 laps at Ebisu Circuit West

3 lap warm-up at Willow Springs Horse thief mile
1 parade lap to establish grid order
20 laps at Willow Springs Horse thief mile

Results will be posted in forums for bragging rights!! LOL

Grid order will be determined by offline qualifying. Honor system is in full effect.

Qualifying laps should be done offline using the quick race, time attack option with no AI cars (no drafting allowed).

If we have more than 8 racers, rooms will be divided by qualifying times for Ebisu Circuit West. We will not rearrange the rooms for the Willow springs race.

Qualifying and racing can be done with assists set to any level you desire. Most of us experienced racers run with nothing more than low ABS and low traction control. Considering the lack of pit stops, I would suggest setting damage to visual only.

All you need to do to sign up is post your PSN name, car type and qualifying lap times for each track in this thread. I will compile the list and edit this post as needed. Qualifying closes at 5 pm (Eastern) on Thursday.

It may be hard to keep you in-sync with what's going on. Do you know if you can setup the audio properties to hear others speaking on the mic?

I've been in online races before and heard others with mics speaking.. no adjustment necessary. Another option is for the leader/organizer to keep me in the loop via Google Talk.

I guess if you can hear me, I can make it work. Send my your PSN ID and I'll do my best to include you.

EbisU West, Cosworth RS, 1:06.72
Horse Theif, Cosworth RS, 1:08.170 - I've obviously gotta improve on this time and that chicane

Guys, let me be the first to say that was awesome! I found once people found their place in Horse Thief that it pretty much stayed that way, however Ebisu was different for me at least.. cutting those two mini-chicanes can sometimes prove disastrous as many of you probably saw me 20ft in the air!

I heard someone say that I was aggressive, I hope I didn't knock anyone off the track.. If I did it was completely unintentional.

Out of control and coming out of nowhere in my Cosworth. =)

Thanks guys for showing up. We had some good racing. Not too bad of an effort for our first Shift run. Here are the results:

I'm glad you came out and had a good time. It would be a bennefit for you to have a mic also.

No sweat about the aggresiveness, just realize that most of us have run together for a while and will back off of each other if we don't firmly have the position. We know it can be difficult to maintain the inside line, but we try to do everything we can to stay off of the guy next to us.

Yeah, I just wanted to put that out there in case I p.o.'d someone. I'm driving with a controller and use the "front of the bumper" view instead of in-car. I like that setup for driving but it makes it tough to know if someone's on the inside when they're coming up behind me.
