Hi all,

Massive noob here. Been trying to tune my Corvette ZR1 RM for the Like the Wind Indy race. However when I set the transmission to the recommended 261 mph, it maxes out on roughly 180 mph. Pretty sure this has happened to my other cars before. So what's happening? My assists are all off. Automatic.

These are my settings

downforce 35/53
trans gearing 261
diff 10/20/10
ride height 0/0
spring rate 16.6/13.4
damper ext 9/7
damper comp 9/7
anti roll 3/5
camber 2.0/1.5
toe 0.0/-.85

tires racing soft/soft

Only on 885 BHP

Cheers

Sounds like the higher figure is being displayed in km/h and the lower in mph.

Raise the gear that you are out of the power band on. Notice where you get peak power with the car, and put the higher gears (I think for oval racing, that's the case; for technical tracks, put all of your gears, I think), if not all, in the power band. That should help you reach your max speed. The side effect with this is that you may have a lower top speed, so be careful!

On the oval races, try cutting down on your downforce as well. You may be limiting yourself with the excess drag that the aeros create. In cases like this, for ovals anyway, I run the gearbox short so that I bump the limiter and then keep nudging it up in increments until it won't go any faster. That will be your true top speed. Once you have found your true top speed, you can also add on 15-20 mph so that you won't wind out in a drafting situation.
