Here is my old one. It was an se-r, and that is the only type of 200sx I'd recommend buying. Plenty of aftermarket support and a very reliable car.

The 200sx is a reliable car. In all honesty BEPM, what do you want in your new car? Why do you want one? What type of performance? What options are important for you? What is a 2nd choice? What would satisfy you? those are the questions you should ask yourself. sorry about the car salesman bit there, but that is what I am

ahh, NZ, you guys got the real 200sx's (180sx) over there huh?
The SER is pretty nice, I've seen some quick ones, but I think it looks like an Egg. Those are FF right? I know the sentra is and I figured it was basically the same thing.

Yeah...what the hell are those cars? Never even thought an 200SX would ever look like that...:yuck:

This is what the body style is over here.

That "Sentra" as it was called and still is called in the USA is front drive, so it's not really considered a true 200SX.

Is a Sentra a Pulsar? They looks sort of similar to each other...

I never heard of the Pulsar. Do you have any pictures of it?

Dang you Cobraboy, lucky dawg ;)

Ive always known those cars pictured above as a pos Lucino with something like a 1.5L in it.
Even though those fwd 200SXs seem not too bad with the SR20 in, it still doesnt deserve the 200SX name

The Pulsar and the Sentra (not the Sentra in the States) is the same car, just different badges

mainly what im lookin for is a car with aftermarket support and also a car that not alot of pepl are tuning right now so im just tryin to find somthin like that any other ideas tell me.

If your gonna buy a Sentra, buy a B13 SE-R, those were the best body style. If I had the extra money I would buy one.

B13 Specs

I have a B12 with an SR20DE (added a turbo later on) out of a B13.

does it matter if it's FWD or RWD? do you need room to carry passengers? do you want a lot of trunk room? How much are you looking to spend?

it doesnt matter what drivetrain but i prefer rwd over fwd no big deal and passenger i only want decent room for me and a chick. so mainly i dont care about trunk space or back seat i want a light car with decent power stock and a good aftermarket support so my budgte is around 3-4 g's not good but im more for the buy cheap make fast type i idea here i hope lol :0

Come on dude, if you are looking for aftermarket support and you live in the US, get yourself a Camaro with a 350 in it or a Mustang Cobra. a mid 70's Camaro would be perfect or the fox style Mustang. You can't go wrong with a F-body living in America. Plus you will save yourself a ton of cash in Upgrades. $50 here and $50 there and saving $1000 you got a car that is running over 350hp close to 400 lbs.-ft in Torque and can burn te bejesus off some rice car. but that is only my opinion. It is going to be hard to find a car that is affordable, having a good aftermarket support and fast.

hmm...you might be able to find yourself a 91-93 MR2 for 3-4k, but it's probably going to have high mileage and it'll probably be NA. My friend picked up his 91 MR2 Turbo for 5k so they're out there if you look. I've seen early 90's Lexus SC300's sell for that range but they're usually automatics (not that that can't be fixed). they're 225 hp and rwd..and really sweet looking ;)

Yeah, I'd go with Miata on this. I was looking into a 1983 Camaro (like the one my mom had) but I couldnt get a report on it. I would have bought it instead of the car I have now, but I didnt feel good about it (seemed like I was going to be scammed). I tried to find another one but couldnt in a good condition...

That suxs to hear you weren't able to get a report on that F body, that would have been sweet :D. I still have my Iroc sitting in the garage in shambles. Well, it has been a running, not running, running, not running issue. I guess that will happen if you keep repairing and rebuilding and adding parts that were not meant to run with other parts. You know the whole learning process. My next project in it is to drop a 454 with a dry oil sump to see if it can fit under the stock hood :D

a friend of mine at work was selling an '84 Z-28 Camaro for $2000 ($1800 w/o the sony stereo), t tops, 1 yr old factory 305 v-8, 5 speed, original paint in excellant condition...i was going to buy it from him but my jetta died the 4th of july...i didn't have 2 grand so i had to put $600 down at a used car lot and bought a really sweet '97 mazda king cab p/u, maroon 2300 4 banger with a 5-speed and kick butt air conditioning (it's got a nice shiny paint job, factory mag wheels and really dark tinted windows, works great on the freeway :) )...then he tells me at work that somebody hit his camaro while it was parked at his house, totaled it out, while he was out talking to someone about getting a total tuneup for it, cause he was getting it ready for me to buy...

Yeah thrid gens unless taken real care of will do that. They are my second favorite body style that the Camaros had. It is a huge shame that they stop the production line of the Camaros. In four years they are probably gonna come out with a new Camaro to get buyers to get one, but Camaro lovers will probably not even touch the car because of the new looks and it will probably be FWD.
