So i've always been a big fan of the NSX in Gr.4 but just could not be competitive with it and switched to the BMW like most people did. I always did miss the the fun of the NSX. The balance is just so much more nicer than the BMW and felt more of a lively ride.
However in the latest BoP changes i was happy to see the that NSX got a buff and decided to be give it a run last night in Daily C Race at Brands Hatch.
Disclaimer - I've had a very long break from GTS ever since the tire glitch was discovered so i was quite rusty. First time playing last night in almost 2 months. I made a lot of mistakes and consistency was my enemy (I also blame Monster Hunter World)
Initial review. Car still feels really good like before and benefits being on throttle. You can 'feel' it squat and get a little bit more traction with an ounce of throttle and i think it can handle long turns better than most cars i follow.
I was able to get my qualifying time to a low 1m30s but i had easily had at least 0.5s up my sleeve. Mid to low 1m29s is easily achievable. Although its still at a disadvantage with its gearing. I really wish it had 7 gears instead of 6 like the M4 has.
Corners that the gearing play a part;
Coming out of druids down the hill to Graham Hill Bend. The NSX gains a better turn in with a bit of engine braking. Staying in 3rd felt disadvantageous as i was getting to the rev limit and felt i had to brake more. So to remedy this i was short shifting into 3rd and 4th just so i could down shift back into 3rd for corner entry.
Sheene's Corner, you think you need to shift into 5th but i had to fight this urge and just ride out 4th. Exit is clearly 3rd gear speed so shifting twice just felt wrong in general. Maybe i could do it quicker in 4th but didn't play enough to test this.
Clarke Curve, another time where you want to up shift into 5th before entry but it too close to the turning point. Had to ride out 4th.
Has anyone else given the NSX a go in Gr4? What do you think? Competitive enough to be a winner?
