Ok, I wanna get something straight before I start.

My objective here is to have this setup tested by experienced individuals who have a wheel and can use it to drive this car on it's limits (ie. not kids who plow through turns in their 1000hp Skylines with their DS2 controllers). After several test laps, my request is constructive criticizm and suggestions to generate faster lap times and/or change the tune of the car in a manner that I can use and a general idea for future tuning of other cars. As in; how a car should perform under racing circumstances.

Right...

I started with a stock NSX Type R with the cream-white #2 Yokohama rims.

I purchased the following:

- car wash
- oil change

- fully customizable suspension
- sport brakes

- racing muffler
- sports computer
- stage 2 NA tune-up
- port & polish
- engine balancing

- racing transmission
- twin plate clutch
- full customize LSD

- stage 3 weight reduction
- T4 or T5 tires

...Then set these parts to the best of my knowledge.

*- spring rate F 10.4 / R 11.2
- ride height F 93mm/ R 93mm
- bound F level 7 / R level 7
- rebound F level 7 / R level 7
*- camber F 3.0 / R 1.5
- toe F 0 / R 0
*- stabilizers F level 5 / R level 5

- initial torque F 0 / R 6
*- limited slip accel F 0 / R 36
*- limited slip decel F 0 / R 35

- gear ratio, 2 notches towards wide from the center
- ASM = 0
- TCS = 0

This wasn't some quick job either.
I've done probably over 150 test laps on Apricot Hill, Midfield and Laguna combined.
Plus the Type R races, which I did alot of qualifying laps for each track.

I would really appreciate hearing some lap times and suggestions as to what I should change.

Thanks.

Edit: Changed some things and pulled 1'22.798 on Apricot.

Asterisks beside what was changed.

Still oversteers a bit on decel, but the only way to stop it is to have identical accel/decel settings cuz I don't wanna over/understeer any more on acceleration.

Try raising the rear camber to 3.0 and front to 1.5 degrees. raise the rear Stas to 5 lower the front spring rate 3 or 4 points and raise the rear 2 to 3 points and test that out. . . The dampers need to be tuned too. . .

I ran a 1'24.352 at apricot... I didn't noticed alot of understeer but, with the asm on or tcs if you come in too fast in the first corner and try to brake for the next your lose traction and start to drift but, I coped with that.Like Miata said the dampers need to be tuned.

The Type-R is a tough MR to tune from what I remember, Kent and I spent a good deal of time getting that thing tweaked. I believe you'll want to increase the Front Bound and Front Rebound on the dampers and maybe one notch increase on the rebound and bound of the rear of the car. I remember fully powered this car can get real Squirrelly. . . If you notice you loss traction a lot going into turns, raise the front by 10mm and that should adjust it right, you'll sacrifice some oversteer, but it is well worth it.

Notice how this car isn't 'fully powered', though?

Ryen: My 3rd ranked time on the Apricot Hill Top 3 is 1'23.640.

Please elaborate on the whole damper tuning thing.

Suicide NSX-R reborn!

I still wanna get this thing, although I've been busy with other cars, I just remembered this.

If anyone here is an experienced tuner, please add me to MSN at iambrock@hotmail.com for I would like to discuss tuning certain cars (this one, GC8, S2000)...
