DETROIT, MICHIGAN - In an effort to stimulate the US economy, the NTSC Championship Office of Public Relations has announced that it will hold a US manufacturers shootout on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009. The Big 3 US carmakers- Ford, General Motors, and Chrysler will all be represented. The requirements for the race are production cars only, with racing compound tires. The track is scheduled to open for practice at 10am Eastern Time, with racing to commence late in the evening. Race participants are asked to submit their entry forms to the NTSC Championship Director of Competition, Chadwicksracing. Unconfirmed rumors are that there will be three 10-lap races in this unprecedented event, where both the OrangeR and Clubman competitors will be racing head-to-head, in multiple concurrent races if neccesary.

The Cars: Ford GT '06 vs. Chevrolet Corvette Z06/Tuned vs. Dodge Viper RVT10/Tuned

Team: Hero Squad (NOTE: this may be made up)
Car: Chevrolet Corvette Z06/Tuned

Would love to race earlier if possible, I'm in AST timezone and have a job. :)

Why are you letting Chevy and Dodge submit tuned cars but not Ford? Isn't the GT LM just a "tuned" version of the Ford GT? :)

Here are my details:

PSN: GTP_LinPark
Team: CEL-Racing
Car: TBD (need to test them - would like to bring the Ford GT since most are driving the Vette but I might take the lazy route)
Color: Black

EDIT: My bad - I thought the race was tonight (5/29) but looks like its next Tuesday - I should be able to make that.

EL, the Ford GT will not be fairly matched against TUNED Vipers and Vettes. You may as well scrub the Ford GT. The tuned Vette and Viper has a ton more down force than the Ford GT alone...Something to think about.

PSN: GTP_L_Hamilton
Team: none
Car: Dodge Viper RVT10/Tuned
Color: Red and Black

Getting in if it's ok ...*checks entry list*... and you still need a field-filler.
PSN: clacksman
Team: None yet, but will race for WAT if still unhired by Tuesday.
Car: +Corvette Z06/Tuned
Colour: +Red (mostly)

+would change at request of team

I noticed some drivers are on new teams, is this just for this practice race or for the full season?

maybe one of the smart guys around here can calculate some mean laptimes based on this old chart. :embarrassed:

Ok, the lap times difference is .500 seconds. That would be great practice for you to push your vette has hard as possible to catch FAK. The reality is there are not many that can push the GT LM to 1'55. So that is logical...but what is not logical is putting two TUNED cars against a STOCK Ford GT. Which by experience will drive as good as a tune vette or tune viper.

or maybe what you should do is tell us why you don't want to put the GT LM in the mix, in the first post? Then you could give the choice of picking a different tuned car. Like a Lotus or Honda? But why should we rationalize all of this?

Can I still get in on this Zissou? I desperately need some practice before the season starts :)

yessir, yessir. i wasnt planning to close registration- just had to pick a deadline so i could send the times out with more than a little bit of notice so people can plan their evenings.

i will send out times this evening- if anyone wants to sign up afterwards, ill try and get you the times as soon as i notice your registration.

I think I will drive the it anyways. Tune cars deserve to race tuned cars. Regardless the lap times mate.

Start times received.👍

I'll get a text chat going just before 9 pm, and invite everyone I have on Flist to it. Send a request if you would, I made room over the weekend.

And, I went unhired, so it's officially a red Vette/Tuned for me, the only driver for team WAT.:D Yes, I may have made that up on the spot.

I did sign up but I didn't receive a start time message? Does this have anything to do with my car choice? lol

EDIT

I saw the first post, I didn't sign up in time..No problem.
