GT4 Arcade Drift Race 2

I have posted before one race, with the smae car and track. Here is the Original Thread:
Nurb: Race 1

I just put up the other thread of me drifting in the Nurb in Arcade, which was in -5 difficulty setting. Now, I have attempted the same race with +5 difficulty setting. My car was a stock Amuse S2000 Street Version ´04. It was equipped with Comfort Tires (N2), No TSC or ASM, Automatic (Because it’s the Nurb), and put to +5 difficulty setting. And I’m going to try to make this as detailed as can be.

Ok, let’s start with the lineup. In first place is the Tom’s X540 Chaser, in second is the Gran Turismo Skyline GT-R (PC) ´01, in third is the Mugen Motul Civic Si Race Car ´87, in fourth is the Trial Celica SS-II (ZZT231) ´03, in fifth is the Nismo GT-R LM Road-Going Version, and in last place, is me with my Amuse S2000 Street Version ´04.

From here starts the action. When the race starts, I see the Nismo already braking for the turn as I start. I already am really good at drifting the Amuse, so I step on the gas and try to pass him on the outside with a long drift; I couldn’t pass him though I was right behind him. The Celica has gained some distance, but that doesn’t worry me. I manage to pass the Nismo at the 7th turn with another outside drift, where he took the turn a little fast and had to go through the outside, barely riding on the grass. The Celica for some odd reason was way in front of me. I started to drift all turns really well, not excessively fast, not excessively slow. By the short little straight I was probably 3 seconds behind. In the U-Turn, I passed him with ease drifting in the inner part of the corner.

The Civic, was 15 seconds in front of me, as it’s a Race Car. After many drifts, I got to the hairpins at 219 kph, so I stepped on the brakes, steered right, gassed it, and drifted. The Civic was now 8 seconds in front of me. The hardest part was coming, so I took it slower than normal. I got to the last turns before the long straight, and couldn’t, sadly, pass the Civic. But, by the straight, I slipstreamed the guy, and took a pass at 245 kph.

The next opponent up was the Skyline. Apparently, the Skyline was not so far from me. So I kept on going, full speed. By the last turns, I lost control, spun out (720 degrees BTW), and managed to keep going at an unfortunate speed of 40 kph. The Civic passed me so suddenly, I didn’t see him. By the 10th turn probably, I passed the Civic, which was 2 seconds behind the Chaser, because the Skyline passed him. I was in luck.

The Chaser was going at a steady pace, not slow, not fast. Though after I caught up with him, he started to really go fast. By the straight before the hairpins, I passed him where many slow down in the part where it bends to the left at an angle. The Chaser was now a little dot in the distance, as seen from my rear view mirror. The joy was in that I had actually passed the Chaser because it was 10 seconds in front of the Skyline in the first lap.

The Skyline was my last target. I drifted the hairpins with little difficulty, whereas I was really good with the Amuse. The hardest sector was coming yet again, so I paced myself out. The Skyline was also taking it easy, so I caught up 5 seconds. And, as you probably know, drifting is faster than normal racing. I was in the turn before the straight, praying the Skyline would lose control or something. Sadly and unluckily for me, he didn’t. Now I was pissed because he still had a 5 second lead over me. The straight was tough catching up, but I managed 2 seconds.

The last turns were definitive; I would overtake him and win, or spin out and get 3rd. I pushed over my limit, went on the grass. But, the Skyline, luckily for me, was just in front. I had to use him as a barrier to stop me from spinning out. Since there was no other option, I did it because I couldn’t even hold for much longer. I finally crashed into him, letting me onto safe pavement and drift nicely once again.

The last turn. I could feel my heart hitting me. I drifted through the outside. As you might probably know, there is a little road that continues somewhere, still paved. There I was, using the extra bit of concrete, as a overtaking chance. I was nearing the grass as I was passing the Skyline. This was the moment I thought I would lose. The car, incredibly, straightened out a little, just enough for me to get back on the track. I passed the turn safely, side by side with the Skyline. I had to pass him now. I pressed R2 to get speed and won the race, on my first try, by 0.000 seconds. :scared: :sly:

Sounds impossible? Its not.

Again i like your thread and your intuition, remindes me on my Trueno vs 3x R34 and 2 x LanEvo 7 :D

Thanks man. Today I will do the hardest race ever. The +10 difficulty setting on Nurb. It will be harder, better, more descriptive than ever before.
