You know how the race starts off in rolling start?
Well, what happens to me is that while the car is being controlled by the AI, at the last turn before the start line, my car crashes into the inside of the turn like if the AI is trying to cut through the corner but with no where to go it bounces off and my car loses time. has anything like this happened to any of you?

Yeah, it's nothing new, the AI actually manages to drive all 6 cars into the barrier :dunce: so they're all equally disadvantaged.
Similar things happen to FF cars at Autumn Ring Reverse where AI drives them into the sand, and some cars at Opera Paris where it's not unusual for an AI controlled car in 2nd place to drop down the grid before the race starts because it hits the wall in the penultimate turn!

I've always equated this to the fact that the Ai is usually making these turns at higher speeds, which means the car is being pulled towards the outside of the track via greater momentum after the race starts.

Before the race actually happens, however, the Ai is being driven by this same cornering program, which isn't able to compensate for less overal inertia. Therefore, the car is making the turn using the same steering input as it is later on after the race starts. Since speed is so low, the turning angle winds up being greater than Ai programming has anticipated, and some cars wind up smacking on the inside.

Once the car smacks the inside of the turn, the ai thinks "oh, there's a barrier. I'd better steer away from it". Which it does. :) Again, it doesn't hurt anything...it just looks stupid as hell.
