This news is couple days old, but.....
Also, this bugs me a little bit:
Antonio Davis was suspended for five games by the NBA, when he went into the stands to help his wife, believing that she was in trouble . Accused harasser is planning to sue Davis for one million dollars. NBA has said that no matter the circumstance, Davis should have contacted the security to stop the harasser. At first, I agreed with the NBA. After the incident in Detroit(Pistons & Pacers game) last year, they can't allow stuff like this to go on. But surprisingly, everyone I talked to sided with Davis. They said that Davis did everything right. If some man in the stand was physically harassing your wife, every second might have counted to ensure her safety. Even if you get a hold of security right away, are they going to be able to spot your wife in the crowd quickly enough? I agree with that. I do understand the tricky circumstance, but now I do think the Davis did the right thing. According to the article I read on CNN yesterday, Davis just got between his wife and the harasser and just stood there until the security arrived. I don't have a problem with that.CBS SportslineCHICAGO -- The fan accused of harassing the wife of New York Knicks forward Antonio Davis will drop threats of a lawsuit if the couple says it's sorry, the man's attorney said Friday.
No way, the Davises said.
"I'm not apologizing to anybody for anything," Antonio Davis said on a conference call. "I don't think that my wife did anything wrong, I don't think that I did anything wrong." http://cbs.sportsline.com/nba/story/9178010
Also, this bugs me a little bit:
Attorney Jay Paul Deratany planned to send a letter to the couple on Friday, also asking the Davises to make a donation to a charity that tries to prevent violence against women and children. Deratany e-mailed a copy of the letter to the Associated Press.
Antonio Davis, led back to the court after the altercation, says he's not apologizing. (AP)
"Why would I donate some money in his behalf?" said Davis, already active with various community charities. "In terms of Mr. Davis' statement, that's just unfortunate because we gave him the perfect opportunity to act like a gentleman and he didn't take the opportunity,"
It's selective quotes from the article, but I don't think I like this guy very much.....Axelrod's father, David, is a prominent Democratic political consultant in Chicago who has worked with Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton and Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley.
