Off Road in Horizon

I'm hoping that they will include some of the off road cars/trucks/etc that we have in Forza 4 right now, such as the Ford SVT Raptor, Jeep Wrangler, Hummer, Lancia, etc. I know people have seen some as the traffic cars, but I hope we will be able to buy/drive them as well. I'd be plenty saddened if I found out there were only going to be sports and supercars as the trailers have only shown so far...

We should see most or all the off road trucks and cars from Forza 4, it just makes sense. So most likely we will have some to start and later a off road DLC.

Well this is good all I know i will be in the trails with my custom EVO VI Rally Car Prototype if the Evo VI is in the game

I've never been inclined to drive any of the tall vehicles in FM4, but if Horizon has actual offroad driving and not just wide flat gravel roads, they'd get a fair amount of use on my profile. So far all we know is you can drive through a golf course (interviews), and some grassy fields (gameplay video). Some rock crawling, mud, or rutted trails would be very welcome. 👍

Sadly I think Jozz's concern is justified and we'll probably get nothing more offroad-worthy than some rallybred cars, and no accessible terrain a Viper or Ferrari couldn't handle...which would make the SUVs/trucks in FM4 doubly dumb. Getting muddy in a big dirty truck doesn't seem like it would fit the "cool car bro" vibe they've established.

I consider it a small miracle that we got gravel roads, though, and I've been impressed by the apparent freedom from invisible walls, based on gameplay video. :)

If Horizon turns out as good as I hope it will be, then I doubt i'll even take a second glance at NFS MW.

Really? That's kinda really odd actually, but good to know. Still, I'm with ImaRobot. I enjoyed Hot Pursuit and The Run, but Most Wanted will be a used buy if anything. EA can take their online pass and shove it.

Also there's always FUEL, if Horizon is cars only.

Sadly, I agree. $60 for an NFS title is too much. Heck, $60 for Forza Horizon ALMOST seems a tad expensive...but I'm guessing all the space that was used for tracks is being used to create the world, so it should be pretty expansive. It might be worth the money. I'll at least pre-order it for the 2012 Challenger, if nothing else...well...that is if I can get an Xbox before it comes out.

Speaking about money, I'm not yet sure whether I'll be buying FH. I'm on a apretty tight budget ATM, and there definitely are a few games Id rather buy.

Namely, Darksiders 2 and GTA V.

It's doubtful that GTAV will be out this year at this point.
Late this year, early next year - my wallet doesn't really seem to care

My budget for gaming is so damn tight right now, I can't justifying more than two to three full-prized games a year. It sucks, but given how little time I spent playing video games ATM, it's just not worth it to skimp out on other things...

Given the other games I want to get in a similar time frame, I just don't think that FH is going to be luring me in. I might get it eventually, as I still play FM4 a lot, but in all honesty - I'm not even done with Skyrim which I had for months now, and I suppose that Darksiders II will consume a considerable chunk of time as well.

So, as much as I like the idea of HF, I'v got to say that neither my budget nor my spare time would seem to be sufficient to get into it. At this point in time, that is. I might pick up the ultimate edition, if there is one.

It WONT be out this year. In fact I still have a pending bet of $20.00 on GTP about this in the GTA5 thread. :sly:

There is just no way they would release GT5 the same year as Halo 4. GTA5 will be out in 2013. Guaranteed.

On topic for Horizon. If it is offroad it will be similar to TDU2. There wont be any crazy mud or anything like that. In fact the NFS game wont have any type of crazy mud either. Might be a slight dusting here and there but its not going to be anything like the ATV games or like FUEL or like Sega Rally Revo.

Neons, NOS, chrome applications? *****?!

Seriously, I do hope that this is fake. I mean, I was okay with the whole brotastic setting, but this is starting to get ridiculous...

Am I living in some alternate universe where people don't do this stuff everyday?

Find me a Hot Rod meet where none of the cars have chrome added to them? NOS is great fun in real life, if it's implemented well in game, as in 'you need to stop somewhere and by refills' I have no problem with it, peoples jaws drop when they see that stuff in the real world on street cars, it's realistic and it appeals to a lot of people, not just the hardcore drag racing guy or fast and furious people.

Neons, while not my thing, and a little out of date style wise, is another thing you'll rarely go to a car meet without seeing on at least one car. It's as stupid as this excessive camber thing that seems to be the rage at the moment.

Honestly, IMO it makes sense if this is all true.

In terms of staging is the new developer Playgrounds Games at full throttle. The British care little change to "Forza" conventions and "Horizon," a David Guetta more in concert than a boring race simulation. At night, DJs spin and swing their hips and slams hot ladies on the day groovy sound from the speakers as it is otherwise rather of "Need for Speed 'are used to. Even the cars look a bit more stylish, can be tuned with underbody lighting and chrome fixtures. Whether a nitrous oxide injection has been provided but not yet revealed, but as our Viper SRT had a red button on the steering wheel NOS is likely that "The Fast and the Furious" feature considered to be confirmed. The eponymous "Horizon" festival as a whole played very consistent and prevents you must you click through menus as usual. Instead, you look with your car, at the Tuner next time just to raise over thicker rims and racing at PR events for Porsche to win send a new base.

He saw a red button on the SRT Viper so they claimed nos was in the game?

Yeah, it might make sense. But that doesn't mean that I have to like it one bit. People put fake hoot scoops on their car, as well as fart cans - doesn't mean I have to like that stuff if it makes it into the game.

I mean, what's next? Swag points for ricing your car out ingame because YOLO?

Like I'm Motarded said, Nos,Neon etc that are in the game maybe are things done in real life and it just gives you the option if you want them or not. Don't get mad cause some Vin Diesel wantabe is kicking your azz one mile at a time.

Thats not why i disagree with the article. The person who wrote it said that the reason why they THINK nos will be in the game is because he saw a red button on the SRT Viper.

I think you're mistaken. I won't be upset that all of that is in the game or not. I just don't think that much info would all get leaked in an article like that. The article just doesn't read like it was done very professionally.

I think we should just wait it out and see if T10 mentions or confirms this.

This doesn't even make any sense. where as adding all those extras including fake vents does #ref. NFS U2.

If you don't like this stuff, you don't have to buy it, just like in the real world. Judging by some peoples reactions to this stuff it's as if they lobbied in the past to have their local retailers shut down who sell the same stuff.
