So the last couple of days Ive been noticeably off the pace in Gr.4 cars. At first I thought it was the Mclaren being balanced poorly for the track (nurburgring) but after trying out the Porsche and the Ferrari on Suzuka im a good 2 seconds off the pace, lapping in the 2:10s at Suzuka.

Ive found the faster cars easier to drive for some reason, going back to the Gr.4 cars, because they are slower, have slightly different brake points and race lines and its a pain in the butt getting used to them again! Anyonelse find this applies to them too?

At least a bit the same here too. But I think that it’s normal i guess. Yesterday I was driving in lobbies and a Mate @Lord Protector noticed that I was slower than usual in Gr4 too. Around 1Sec perLap. I didn’t even notice it at all but afterwards he wrote me and was surprised why I wasn’t faster than he probably expected me to be. I very often vary the Car Class and tire compound and therefore always have to adapt my braking points and racing lines. It takes a few races everytime to readapt. So i‘d say nothing to worry about.

I'm the same mate, I can get to within ~1sec of the top 10 stars in Gr.1, but I'm miles off in Gr.4 - I just really struggle for front end in Gr.4.
Are you a wheel user?
If so, it's just better suited to Gr.1, and pad-users will be far more competitive in Gr.4 > Gr.1.

Have you tried adjusting the settings on your wheel? Primarily sensitivity; in previous GT titles I've always found that increasing sensitivity when driving more pad-friendly cars can help.

For example, on GT5&6 my default steering sensitivity would be 4, were I to drive a kart lowering it to 2 would help, were I driving something AWD like a GTR, upping it to 6 would help.

Unfortunately I'm still searching for these settings in GT S - but curious to see what others suggest.

Im using a G29, main cars I use are the Ferrari Gr4 and Gr3 cars. Ive had the same settings for a while now and Im used to it across all the cars just for some reason Im struggling with the Gr4 cars the last couple of days, I got a 2:11 at suzuka just then for the daily

My force feedback torque is at 8 and the Force feedback sensitivity is at 3

Using those cars is a handicap in itself. Then you have the torque set way too high and the sensitivity too low, try swapping them around and see if that is better.

Same here. I got into the top 10 in the Gr. 1 daily with 1:18.1xx
I'm long gone from the Top 10, but it's still good enough to get me poles

But in Gr. 4 Suzuka I can't get to even 2:08. I cap out at 2:09.1xx :banghead:

It'll just be a driving style adjustment; the cars in Gr.4 are far more forgiving than Gr.3, and I find that because of this the advantages of good driving techniques won't be doing as much for you in Gr.4 as they would in Gr.3.
The cars are also default tuned to favour pad users, which again mitigates the advantages of using a wheel and driving well.

I think the settings are fine, Ive won races so there not terrible. My issue atm is just adjusting how much to accelerate out of corners mostly, its like my brain thinks Im still driving a Gr3 car.

I just did a 2:10.3, almost a whole second improvement.

Same here once again. Me too is using the Gr4 and Gr3 458 exclusively. So today I just did some practice laps on Suzuka. My best lap was a 2:08:563. I then switched just out of curiosity to the Vantage and within 2 laps, immediately improved my lap time to a 2:07:947. Like @ASH32 mentioned, i‘d suggest you urgently to swap your settings as I think it’s definitely better. Just my advice ;)

Edit: Haha, forget my Vantage Time. I forgot to turn on BoP

When I am off the pace. I tend to forget the basics of how I race. Forget when I should turn, brake and what line to follow. Then by remembering the basic rules I follow I will slowly get back to a level I am used to.

I swapped my settings and now my steering is super light, Ill have to do some fine tuning but I think having them set at 4/6 or so might be about right, either way I didnt improve my time pace stayed the same, about to do a race, thanks ASH32 and PirovacBoy

Nope, forget about that race then, the lights were about to go out and the PS4 decided to cut the HDMI signal for like, 5 seconds...seriously? I cannot believe my luck.
