I'm not really good at making liveries... But hey, I made these and took a photo with my cellphone (I play on a PS3, and PSN problems and such :s)

Why do you say that you re not good at it, man. Some colour choices are maybe a bit questionable but at least that Golf looks really bad a**! 👍

Hey thanks! And yeah, my Corolla is made purely for drifting, so I wanted some odd colours. The Supra looks better when you see it on my TV, my cellphone pretty much ruined it

Well the supra colours are fine but I dont dig the arrows. And I think it would look way cooler with some black racing rims on it, but thats just my gusto, of course.

BTW, which system are you using? PC, 360, ps3? Did you also have the bug/bad programming of mirroring screwing up angles and rotated objects not saved correctly? Cause your liveries seem fine regarding that issue. Its driving me nuts, all my liveries on the ps3 get totally screwed up and not saved correctly with all the angles wrong...

And I'm on PS3, I have only had a little problem where the stickers rotated slightly, but I then put them back like they were and have had no more problems so far I have the Limited Edition, I've read that helps, but because of the offline PSN, I haven't yet received my LE special cars and events :s

Depends on which game you are using. If you re on ps3, since psn is down you have to use your cellphone and take a photo. PC... screenshot? If you re on xbox, I dunno.

WARNING to all that have custom liverys.

-You cannot sell any car if you have a custom livery, I already lost 3 custom liverys and didnt know why but Ive been working on a custom livery for a Reventon works (8 hours work already) and today I wanted to switch my GT1 car and sold the maserati so after doing that I imediatly checked the Reventon and my livery was gone - the car was all gray so I exited the game before it could save and I got my GT1 maserati and my Reventon livery back.

Damn I wish I had known this. In the weeks while I was waiting for the 1.02 patch I put a lot of work into making some liveries (at least 3 or 4 hours into my works Lexus LFA alone- doing a replica of the toyota 88-cv taka-q livery). After I got the patch I cleaned out my garage of the cars that I didnt like or finish, and then next time I played my LFA and a couple others were was just dark gray. It was pretty disappointing.

Damn guys, I really feel with you. Its a shame that this horrendous bug still exists after the game has been patched - 2 times!

I m still getting all my liveries screwed up (the Apollo I did looks like **** with everything twisted and misaligned all the time) but at least I didnt lose any.

Yeap and the porsche alone took me over 8 hours work (kind of a replica of Tiago Monteiro seat WTCC) but to be honest the livery doesnt fit the car very well. Not that it isnt a good livery (modesty appart) but it just doesnt look very good on the porsche

@ Tribolik: 8hrs? Thats mental, mate... Safe for the a bit boring black rear fenders I kinda like the Porsche despite my irrational hate for the colour yellow. How did you do the waves on the sides, if I may ask?

Did you really lose the fantastic Reventon livery too? Thats my favorite one in the whole thread.. crying shame! If I was you I d probably run through the streets frantically screaming: "Bring me the head of Ian Bell!"

Really? thank you, very, very much, Im flattered... it was my main hobby on the PS3 before the patch...

...but yeap I lost it when I sold a GT1 car cdont know wich because I bought every one and sold 2 or 3 in a row. but at least I took photos of this ones because the first two I lost I didnt take photos and one of them (porsche spyder works) took me 4 hour to make and it was my favorite... Ive done 7 different liverys and I only have the mitsubishi... all the others I lost except one that I sold on porpuse.

The waves on the porsche could only be done by choosing the gloss paint on the car and gloss vinyl.
So make 3 white circles on the sides... then copy them to the other side then copy again from the other side to the same side - and I have 6 identical circles -3 on top of the others... change the color of the ones on top to black and scale it so that the white shows a bit. then I do 3 white elipses to make a hole on the black circle - copy onto the other side then copy back again and change the color on the top elipses to yellow (color of the car) then scale it until it shows a bit of white underneath- then with yellow squares I hide the white bits that still show in the wrong places and that does it pretty much - than I mirror to the other side and that automaticly erases my previous copied circles e ellipses... but it only works with gloss paint and gloss vinyl or matte paint and matte vinyl.

I hope I wasnt very confusing explaining - my english isnt the best...

I also dont like the yellow very much (but its the color of the original Seat WTCC) and I was going to change the colors of the livery but then I lost it.

I use the same technic with the numbers frames and everything I want to have a frame on it because if I do it any other way I waste hours just to try and make the things match

Yep, its very touchy and very annoying. In my opinion Forza's livery editor should be made compulsory for any racing game with customizable liveries.

Tried to replicate Brian O'Conner his Skyline from 2 Fast 2 Furious. Still the best looking car in all of the Fast and Furious movies in my opinion.

This is the best I could do with this bugged piece of **** they call a livery editor. Color brightness of the objects kept changing every time I selected them to move or scale them a bit. Also the rotated objects were out of place every time I saved and went back to the livery editor so pretty much nothing is rotated, only skewed. I also didn't bother with the decals on the hood, tried to get some on there but they looked very pixelated. And since you can't paint them in the same blue color as the vinyls it wouldn't look good anyway.

I'm still happy though, it turned out okay. Just not really the way I wanted.

Yeah I was really trying to but I gave up after the objects just kept resetting and were out of place again. Might try again if they ever improve the livery editor but for now this will do.



Edit: Just made another, this time on my S2000. Pretty much same livery as the Skyline except the stripes on top and made the side look a bit better I think. Obviously different colors as well and since I wasn't trying to replicate anything it came out a lot better than the Skyline. No decals again though, won't use any of them untill we can change the color of them (probably never).

I like making liveries, just too bad there's not that many options with Shift 2's livery editor and no fine tuning. And all the bugs..

Nice S2000! I m sure there would be some sponsor decals in the selection that would look good on this, though, and improve the look even more... Carbontec is orange, for example, I used that to spice up my Murcie. Or something white like Rays or Recaro might also look cool on that dark gray/orange theme! 👍

Thanks! The orange decals are all a different orange though so wouldn't look that good I think. White ones should do but then there's still the issue that they become very pixelated when you make them a bit smaller. It just ruins it all for me. Rather have no decals on it then.
