OH, this is bull crap!

Well, When I started up my new PS2 ( cause when my old one went down I was playing Vice. ) I started up vice. Well, the file is not corrupted, but the game can't pick up my save. Ive got to about 85% and all hundred packages and alot more stuff. Has this happened to anyone else, now that im pissed off.

I guess there are some downsides to a new PS2.
I have no idea why the file isn't being read dude, sorry. Just start over, I've done the game several times and because I wanted to, not because I had to. (well, a few times because I had to but I still enjoyed it)

I think when my old PS2 froze in the middle while I was playing it can take the blame for this minor problem.

I dunno. I suspect that if the file's corrupt then there's SFA you can do other than start from scratch. I don't think there's much you can do unless you were clever enough to save a couple of backup files on the same memory card.

I bet you have your disc scratched. That is probably the reason why. If you have a GameDoctor, you should have no problem fixing your disc to normal, working condition

I just bought this card like 3 weeks ago. And it works fine with my other games. So its not my card. Maybe, I Shoulda backed it up.

When I restarted my game, the first thing I did was get all 100 packages before I did any missions or anything. That way you've got access to all the cool weapons and stuff and it makes your game MUCH easier.

It's simple really. Use a PCJ to get into the movie studio and aim the Packer inside to use as a ramp pointed towards the bridge to the West Island. Park it at an angle of about 45 towards the bridge and at enough of a distance that you won't hit the wall.

Then go the opposite corner of the movie studio and just blast yourself towards it (head ducked down behind the windshield) on your PCJ in such a way that you'll land in the middle of the bridge, past the barriers. If you do it right (it might take some practise) then you'll land past the barriers on the bridge and have full access to the West Island. Get all the weapons and/or hidden packages there that you want and then take a chopper from the roof of the Hyman Condo back to the East Island.

The way I got to the 2nd island early is pretty easy (I discovered this on accident)-- get a PCJ and head down by the southernmost bridge-- if you drive up to it and look you will see gaps between the concrete barriers-- Now head back up the road and and turn around near where your save point that you can buy (I think its called 1102 washington or something)-- head back toward the bridge at full speed on the PCJ but stay on the left side of the road and as you approach the barrier you will have to turn to the right to line up with the gap (so you don't hit the light pole on the right) and aim for the gap between the middle and right barrier-- you must be upright as you go through the barrier (don't try and turn as you go through).

I can get through after about 4 or 5 tries usually.

The only problem is all the traffic at the corner near the hospital (they like to cut in front of you)

After you get to the other side, buy the skumole shack so you have a save point over there. If you die or get busted the game sends you back to the first island so make sure you save fairly often.

Another way to get over there I read about is to get an ambulance and drive it to the marina and park it next to the gate to get to the docks (the one too the right of the one you go to for missions)--I'm not sure if you can jump directly on top of it or if you have to get another car and park it next to the ambulance but either way, get on top of it and you can supposedly jump over the gate and then grab a boat--I never tried this so please don't blame me if this does not work.

I don't know about that one. The gate there is pretty tall, I don't know if an ambulance is tall enough. Is the roof of the gate there intangible? If so, I wouldn't deem it impossible.
The film studio way sounds pretty good.

The concrete barrier method on the south bridge definitely works (I discovered it) and is alot easier then the studio method (IMHO)

I did read the final line of your post. I was just stating that 'cause I've tried relentlessly to go over that gate and that method seemed a bit sketchy. It's all cool.

Geez, is it that time of the month? I was just making a suggestion to check out. I didn't know that you bought it three months ago and it worked with all your other games did I?
