Hello again. I figured I'd reintroduce myself since I'm starting anew and I hadn't really been active on this board for quite a while. I was originally known as Irons on here, but throughout the gaming community and whatnot, I was better known as ThrasherDBS. So I asked Jordan if I could forfeit my original account in favor of starting another one under the moniker I was better known as.

I suppose I'll follow the suggested questions on Jordan's welcoming post.

1. How did you find GTPlanet?

I was browsing one day for Gran Turismo news and this site popped up. I saw that there was a forum, and I decided to join.

2. Where are you from?

I'm from Grants Pass, OR. It's a nice little town. The only real notable thing worth mentioning about it is that Randy Grubb (the guy who built the Tank Car for Jay Leno that's featured in GT4 and GT5, and the owner of Blastolene) also lives here.

3. When did you start playing the Gran Turismo games?

My cousins introduced me to the series when I was about six, so right in the interim between GT2 and GT3. I can't remember if it was GT2 or GT1 that I played first, but I was amazed at the amount of detail that was put into the modeling of the cars and the tracks. Not only that, but the prospect of having literally hundreds of cars at your disposal blew my mind. So, I'd say I've been a fan for about 13 years running.

4. Do you play with a steering wheel?

Nope. Don't necessarily care to spend the money on one, and there wouldn't be anywhere to put it without it being in the way. I know I'm missing out on some features, but I find the games plenty of fun just rockin' the DS3.

5. What other games do you enjoy?

I'm very racing game focused, so the PS1 era Test Drives and Need For Speed (PS1 era was the best). However, I'm also quite a fan of Twisted Metal and Tekken. Sometimes, I go back to the platformers that I enjoyed as a kid as well, like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro The Dragon.

6. What are you most looking forward to doing in the community, now that you're a part of this site?

If nothing else, I'd like to just be a part of the community. If there's some time trials I can take part in, I'll check them out. If I can join some casual rooms, I'll check them out as well. This site pretty much has it all, so if I'm interested in something, I'm sure I'll have no problem finding it.

It'll be nice to meet new faces and revisit some old friends.

Surely it would have been easier to pay the $12 for GTPremium, request a name change and be able to keep your 745 posts and friends list instead of starting over?

Also welcome. Again. ;)

Well, I figured it would be nice to start anew. I was well aware of the option and still thought it would be good to simply start over anyway.

The posts? I don't necessarily see any real value associated with how many posts you have. If I have something to contribute to the discussion, I'll post. In time, my post count will be back up to where it was on my old one, but really I don't think it's that big of a deal.

As for the friends list, the people that know who I am will probably friend me again, and it'll give me the chance to find new friends in the community. If memory serves, I only had 9 friends on my old account, so it shouldn't be that hard to bring that count back up.

I mean this with all due respect but I don't necessarily see my starting over as a bad thing. I see it as an opportunity to start fresh. With time, I'll accumulate posts, and hopefully be a good contributor to the community.

Thank you for the welcome, sir. ;)
