OK what the hell. I swear someone hates me! Ok i baught a dazzle 80 dvc. I install the software, plug it into my usb port. PLug in the red, yellow and white chords into the dazzle external thing. I run the program, turn on the ps2 and try to capture video. OH but no its not that simple. It doesn't work. It says "Pinnacle Studio QuickStart cannot initialize the DV capture device. PLease ensure the camcorder is connected and the power is on.
If the provlem persists, try these steps :
- Turn the camcorder power off and on
- Disconnect and reconnect the 1394
- Restart Windows and try again " Ok so i tried everything they said. I dont know i guess im missing something..? PLEASE HELP MEEE

First I bought a Pinnacle PCTV Pro, it's impressive. But $80 is too expensive for what it's worth so I returned it by saying it's defective, and got myself a PCTV Rave at ebay, cost $40 dollars. Same thing really.

I would say dazzle should work fine... it was the software that troubles the original threader... most common solution I can provide is to get Dscaler (for viewing and capturing) and VirtualDub (for converting).

OK, on this subject, I'm hoping you guys can help me out. I've got a replay that I'd like turned into an Mpeg.

So it requires a Sharkport (NTSC) and a video Capture card.

This alos requires a bit of discretion, as I don't want this replay leaked out yet. In fact, I can think of only three people that might have seen it already.

Drop me a PM if you're interested and can help me out.

Thanks,

AO

I don't understand why you guys buy capture cards. Its all about the Sharkport!!! I got mine for $9.99, and it is so easy to install. I mock you with your capture problems

While the Sharkport works nicely for sending files to each other, it does nothing for editing, clipping, cutting and pasting videos.

It bascially comes down to choreography of sequence and music to do it right.

I'd happily fork out the $40 for a capture card, but that means I'd have to kick my wife off the computer. I'd also have to redo my apartment to get he PS2 located next to the computer, as well as pick up another TV to use in conjunction with it.

Correction, you dont need to put your ps2 next to you computer. My CPu is downstairs, my PS2 is upstairs, and I can make videos on a daily basis if I want to, not having to move anyhting.. Well, I bring my PS2 down, thats it..
