One Big Problem

So I bought my PS3 in 2012 and got GT5 with the console. I didn't have wi-fi at that time so all the patches and updates bundled up into one big update. Now that I have wi-fi I started to download update 2.15. All goes well in the beginning but at 85% trough the update it installs a sub-update, then all of a sudden a error accours and stops the whole download.🤬:banghead: Then a pop-up message appears and enforces me to re-install the game data, now that pisses me off! I went along with it and re-installed the game data. When I start with the update again (thinking it will go on where it left off) it starts all over. Now if my math is correct it's about a 3GB update and I pay for that data.:( It threw out a error code,, but I was to bumbed out to write it down. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to things like this.

If any one has advice on how to correct this it will be greatly appreciated.

Never heard of a sub-update. Does it shows two bars on the screen when it does the "sub-update"?

Yeah the update consists of 16 parts (I just call it sub-updates) with the bottom bar showing the completed percentage of the full update.

I guess your wifi is not stable , you should try a wired connection !
I don't think its due to unstable wi-fi, I used my dad's galaxy s4 as a wi-fi hotspot running at 4G. And it was during the installation that this happaned not during the download.

So, the problem happens when you're installing, not downloading. OK. I'm guessing that one of the update packages got corrupted when you were downloading them. Then when it went to install, it found your corrupted update and stopped installing. That was just a wild guess really. Don't count on it.

If you had that error code, it might have been easier to help you.

I knew that I should have written down that code. :banghead: I don't think you are to far off with the guess you took because it does make sense. Would you perhaps know anyone else who might have more insight to this matter?

Did it say something like this?: "An Install Error Occurred During the Install Operation (error code here)."

That's correct. Right after that I was enforced to re-install the game data or I couldn't play the game.
