Hi i just tuned a silvia s15 from the drift settings in this forum. It all worked great offline but when I went online I kept spinning out. What do I need to change in my car? Im using a DFGT

You need tune your drifting cars in the drifting lobbies. Also, you need understand that the physics in the online enviroment tends to slightly change depending the latency between players and the make up time (MUT) to compensate diferent pings.

Even with a top notch connection youre depending with sync between several another players. And some of them have DNS issues, or live far away from you, or even dont really care about internet connection quality and don´t even know that is playing under NAT 3.

If you want to minimize the chances of have headache with latency, create your own lobby and wait for people comes. Oh, and remove the laggers.

Anyways, NEVER tune a car based in the offline enviroment. Period.

Okay, but as I said im not good with tuning. And i really want a car to drift. I get pretty bored drifting alone. So do you have any car setup you can share with me?

The best thing to do is just mess around with things, pove thing up and down, and just test it, and test it again until you get it. Im not sure where you from but if you need help there are some great drifters and tuners on my team please check out the thread. Link is in my signature.

Im not telling to join our team, im saying you are welcome to come drift with us get tips on ways to drift and how to tune your car.

If your on at this time most of the time so is my team mate (Zedfonie) He can help you with a tune. He has tuned a few cars for me and they are amazing. Look into him.

You shouldn't need to change your settings THAT much when you're changing between online and offline, when I started I hardly even noticed the difference, I can tell it's different now but it's minimal.

The same setting should suffice 👍

It was very different for me.

Maybe you're just feeling like you have to impress? The pressure is getting to you as oppose to the actual differences, try to drift in ''Free Run'' offline and see how that goes.

Dont tell him to drift in offline, physics are waaaay different. If you get all this practice offline then go to drift online you will have to learn all over again! Drift in your lounge. Practice Practice Practice. You will get it. I did with the DS3, not im learning on the steering wheel! Thats ish is hard!

There is a difference in grip between offline and online. Also more than not, most online lobbies have tire wear turned off so it's more like offline but still there is a slight difference in grip. In your original post you mentioned that you keep spinning out. That points to too much front tire grip, try adjusting the camber and that should help.

I wish I would have known this earlier!! I JUST started being able to drift pretty consistently LAST NIGHTTT when offline after a weeks worth of practice!! :banghead:

*sigh* here we go again...

probably had a tire restriction in the room and changed the tires without ur knowledge, make sure u always use CH tires when drifting, you get better with ALL tires this way.

I don't really care about realistic vs non-realistic. Either way I won't be drifting in real life so it makes no difference to me. I just want to be able to drift every car on any track and be GOOD! And eventually start doing tandems! lol

Here's something interesting though -- when I joined a random lobby 3 nights ago, I kept spinning out and it felt COMPLETELY different then offline. Last night I started my own lobby and it was SLIGHTLY different then offline. In both occurrences I was on CH. I don't know why, just something I observed. :boggled:

Probably due to connection. Learn online until you get the jist of things and just use offline for when you can't be bothered to load a lobby, like I do.
