Online Lobby Race Type???

There are certain times, when I race online, I find it difficult to find a race with the parameters that I like. PP, track, type, etc...all of these come into play when choosing an online race.

I usually go into the Just for Fun (J4F) lobby, mainly because I'm not a hardcore racer (even though GT has been one of my favorite games for over a decade). But lately I've been having difficulty finding the perfect room. Over the last few days, I think I've been figuring it out: The lack of proper race type usage.

I'll go into J4F and more than half of the races are drift or drag!!! Why are the drifters not in the Drift lobby? Seems to me that drifters would want to race in drift rooms. That would cut down on a ton of clutter in the J4F lobby.

And about the drag races...They never get out of the Free Run (FR) mode, so why don't they use the FR lobby? All they have to do is list the race as "Drag" or "1/4 Mile" and there would be no confusion.

I'm just looking at things logically. Maybe PD could add a few more race types to help us organize our online races a little better, but as it stands, I think we could all put a small amount of thought as to where we go when we create an online race.

If this post could help just a little bit, then all of us will have an easier time finding the race that we want to race. Comments and opinions are very welcome. Thank you.

Well I think a lot of people online that aren't on GTPlanet or really respect the game just jump into a lobby and do whatever they feel like doing while some people like you and I would like some organization within the lobbies, for instance whenever I start a 450PP lobby I might do a few hot laps with whomever is in the room but once we do that it's time to start the race and get on with things, but it is what it is I guess. I also think that some of the hosts just really don't care what goes on in the room.

I normally do 2 hot laps then get on with the race, unclean racers get kicked. We start at low hp races and work our way up slowly. With a few same car races thrown in, my lobbies always have 10-16 racers in it. Good way to get a good list of likeminded friends.

You should join one of my lobbies, I do the same thing with mine.

I do sometimes; only problem with that is I often have to wait ridiculously long amounts of time before the next driver pulls into the room.

I just started asking folks for friendships in GT5; so let's hope by the time I get more pals, I will no longer have issues finding that "perfect" race.
