I'm a complete rookie in all this drifting business, have only really managed to do it in some of the more commonly used cars (mostly silvias)

But I got into the Alpine via Ducks' settings in order to do the Alpine dealer cup races... And what a blast! Personally I think the car itself is beyond ugly, but the thing is just not happy unless its going sideways! No feint technique, just turn and it's driftin! wheeee! (usin R3 tires & stage 2 NA) some of my exits were a bit sloppy, as I really wasn't expecting it to act like that, but whoa! I'm afraid to see what it would do on N2's, I may just spin, who knows

But man! replay was great too! :D I just wish I had some equipment to post pics or vids :indiff: but if all you sideways junkies out there havent tried it, or if you wanna drift and can't quite get it goin... GET IN THIS CAR!

well I just had to share that, gonna go finish the cup now ;)

Yes, that was no typo, Racing medium tires & NA2 tuning, no NOS or aids... remarkably I'm sure Duck meant for his settings to be for grip driving, but apparently this car doesn't do grip, so controllable driving will have to suffice :D

Somebody out there has to have one of these monstrosities in their garage, hose it down & take it to trial mountain or any other track that you like to drift on! I first did Tokyo r240 or whatever route that is with it when I discovered that not only was it ugly it had some attitude as well, which totally redeemed it. 👍 👍

I've tried (and failed) to get this car to grip in the past, so, now I think about it, it probably is the perfect drift car. Mine currently has so much -ve camber you can see it a mile off.:irked:

Can't believe you think it's ugly, though: I've always loved 'em, since I first saw one and wondered wtf it was. That was in 1979.... They look brilliant in R/L.

I Agree with the drift part ANd the ugly part. Tough the design as a little something cool about it...:sly: But the car is a blast to drive. The engine pulls a lot for 125 hp and with N2, it slide easly. Try it.👍

For Movie watchers, an Alpine A310 or two are extras in "Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo."

The "Don't Lift" theory definitely applies to this car when you drive it. It's worse at going straight than an early Porsche. But that might make it a better Drift car.
